Welcome to the channel! Follow along as I document the ownership of my small collection of cars. A 1999 SAAB 9-3 convertible, 1999 SAAB 9-5 wagon, 2002 SAAB 9-3 5 - Door, 2010 Chevrolet Impala, 2006 Mercedes - Benz CLK 500 convertible, and a 2003 Mercedes - Benz SL 500. There are many other vehicles (SAABs included) that appear for repairs or reviews. My goal is to provide information and entertainment as I go about restoration, repairs, and maintenance of these cars, as well as those of my family and friends. Thank you to everyone that watches and follows along! I make these videos partly to have something to document the cars I have owned, driven and fixed, but it's great to know that others enjoy it too!

A bit of misinformation here. Ive the same car and to fix the windows one can remove the steel panel that holds the regulater without removing the seatback. But it is still involved. Several videos on youtube depict this endeavor.

I loved mine but it was putting me in the poorhouse because most of the work i had to let my mechanic do. the worse was the tilt/tele control going bad, that was over $2500 in repairs and labor.

Hey, thanks for doing this info. I've just swapped out the silver dash from my dead 2002 Aero to my daily drive, a 2004 Aero wagon, which for some weird reason which almost stopped me buying it, had a wood grain dash. I didn't need to take off the steering wheel cowling or the stalks, although it was a bit tight putting the dash in the 04 without taking them off. I also have another 2002 Aero that again has a wood grain dash, so now I am thinking about doing some paint tests to see if I can replicate the brushed aluminium (aluminum if you're foreign, lol) The dead Aero was my first ever Aero and my second ever Saab, it overheated up a stretch of climbing highway about 40 kilometres south of Auckland, New Zealand, I was doing around 145 kph at the time and was 120 kms from home ... didn't cry but it was a close thing. I have overheating alarms in both my live Aero's now, love these cars too much to risk losing one again. Thanks again.

.... and because of your video it took my about 30 minutes to get the first dash out, 20 minutes to get the second dash out, and maybe 10 to put the first dash in the second Aero ... although I'll be damned if I could find the plug for the ESP button, but it was getting dark (we're heading into winter here) I'll open it up again another day and have a longer look for it.

I have had one for 8 years. Done about 2,100 miles. Car done 48,000 miles in total. Has been reliable. However petrified the valve stem oil seals will go. Had a 735i and it cost me $8,000 to replace these. Car fell apart after about 100,000 miles. A car not for the faint of heart. p.s. My mechanic loves these cars. They paid for his last trip to Europe.

I bought mine from a dealer. Actually a stealer. It has low miles 43k. The day I drove it home. 22 miles. The car was done. It showed pull over immediately stop engine add oil. The dreaded alternator bracket gasket leak. I never fixed it. This was March 2021. The vehicle is a monument on why you don't buy a used vehicle. Cause they are junk.

Months later… but my ‘99 9-3 5spd cv is frost grey, too! “Blue” (as I call him) will be officially 25 yrs-old in Feb 2024. Rare color only for this year, I believe, but I’ve met a few other Saabers in my area w/it. It’s been mine since ‘02 when I bought it in SoCal, still my trusty daily driver, but a companion 9-5 wgn for NE winters would be nice as well, even better if it’s also MT. Same color/MY would be amazing… yours is a beautiful car.🚙 *The perforated seats are different, and odd that there’s no turbo gauge? One very thoughtful thing I really appreciate in the 9-5 (my Saab mechanic’s loaner)… that driver’s side dual sun visor! Such a simple thing but oh so helpful.😎

I’m from Milano, Italy, it is like the mine one (MY 2006) twin but manual transmission and unfortunately without the HK system: I’ve got the medium one with 7 loudspeakers, but its quality is so so far than the 9000 ones, very nice made in Philips (these ones are cheaper Pioneer). In my model no compass onto the rear mirror, no warming seats and the leather has got some black pieces instead all cream as your one. I’ve got parking and rain sensors, xenon beam. On the right part of the cover valves your one shows a strange device that I do not have to the mine one.

I had a 1984 version back in the day. Bought it with over 100,000 miles on it and drove it for another 100k. What always surprised me was that even though it was not a turbo, when you wanted to speed up at highway speeds, that 2.0 liter 4 cylinder was very willing to accelerate. They are also unstoppable in the snow.
