The main purpose of my channel is to document my rides and horse camping, but I also show life on my little homestead. I share the day to day activities of chores, highlight products, show gardening and all the fun and work of having animals. #followmyride #pnwhorserides #alpacas #horsegirl #trailriding #barnlife

Now this trail is one I've ridden on twice lol. First time my gelding was trying to throw us off the trail into the river going the Raymond direction (he was all sorts of out in his back, neck... everywhere, and has bad ulcers. Apparently he hates group rides, too, because that was a rough day 9_9). Second time I was on my thoroughbred mare doing our first endurance ride at the Midnight Rider staged from what is now called the Owl and Olive.
Looks like Dottie enjoyed the ride to the lake ❤
Thanks for sharing!!
I caught a glimpse of your saddle at the beginning of the video it looks super comfy what model is it
It's a Living Bar saddle by Stonewall Saddlery. It's super light at only 11 pounds.
Thank you for the update. Hope to get out there soon.
Just stumbled upon your videos… Beautiful!!!!! Thanks for sharing ❤.
Aww, thanks for the comment. I hope you'll check out my other videos. Are you in WA state?
Thank you for an other wonderful video. I am trying to figure out if possible to ride some as I live on the Eastern side of the state. Thank you for sending all the directions, also thank you for the information on your saddle, I am looking into one.
Here is the link to the ride last year from the Adna staging area. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gGF3qLGDfZqyqLw.htmlsi=rDqOBtmMd6p-j-8q
Wonderful video and thanks for sharing the history!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Loved the video. Can you tell me about your saddle. Right now I am using a western barrel saddle. Yours looks really comfortable, how do you like it, how much does it weigh? I am looking for a light saddle because I have worsening arthritis in my back and lifting is hard. Can you tell me who the maker is of your saddle? Sorry to have so many questions, please keep the video's coming.
www.cmtc.com/made-in-california-profile/stonewall-saddle-company If you contact Jackie, let her know Deanne from Follow My Ride sent you. Thanks for watching.
I ride in a Living Bar Saddle made by Stonewall saddlery. It is very light weight at only 8 pounds, 11 pounds with stirrups.
I love that you are celebrating her 30th birthday....Happy belated Birthday.
She's approaching 31 on June 1.
I want to thank you for sharing your wonderful trail rides and I love the narrations you give. I am a senior, just getting into horses and trail riding, also living in WA, the northeast side. en
Thank you for watching. Where do you like to ride?
@@followmyride6970 Have been riding in the area of trails in Stevens County, I live in Colville. I am retired so always look for new area's. I love watching your video's and the fact that you travel to so many different area's.
You ride to slow
I'll go for speed soon😆🐎
Enjoyed this very much, thank you. I don’t ride anymore, so it was great to watch, felt like I was riding too :) the kids were cute petting Paris❤
Thank you. We had a few people ask to pet the horses. It was fun sharing with them.
Thank you for all these videos and for the info! Based on your videos, I'm going to try the place by Molalla, Saddle Dam, and I think this one too! Really appreciate the time you put in to give us the info.
That makes me happy. Thanks for the comment. I'm a member of Washington Trail Riders Association. If you're in SW WA, I recommend it to meet more riding buddies.
What a good steady pony you have. Tracey (Australia)
Thank you. She is a good girl. I bought her when she was 6 and she was a handful. Now, at 22, she is starting to slow down, but still loves being out.
So nice!!!
I used to ride my gelding there all the time! My dog and i still go out for walks there and we love watching the horses go by!
It's a great place to ride.
So where is wippill creek
It's in the description and location. Whipple Creek is in Ridgefield, WA.
You must have gotten there early. By noon, it is mostly filled with cars. I never go on a weekend because it is so busy. When I ride the seasonal trails, I prune & lop overhanging vegetation to help keep the trails open for riding. If everyone carried pruners & small loppers, they could really help, too! Thank you for the video. God Bless!
We were there on a Tuesday. I agree, I avoid WC on weekends and carrying pruners is a great idea. I often do that when I'm riding alone or with just one other person. Thank you for helping keep the trails clear.
Looking good Deanne. Wish I was there with you
What a happy goober he is.
Those ears😅
I really enjoy the variety of this ride; bridges, hills, roads, woodland, and a rushing creek.
It's always an adventure in the making.
How old is he ?or she. We have a 5 year old Yorkie and I love him so much. Dogs and Cats are the best !!
He is my new dog. He's now 15 months. He's a character.
Is that your adorable dog, so cute Deanne
Yes. He still has puppy brain, but he's learning.
Where is this?
Hardy Creek in Oregon. I have a full video of the ride.
If you could make suggestions to trail managers, what, if any, feedback for improving trail(winter) system could you provide?
It is very well maintained. Bigger signage for trails would be nice. Info about Annie's cabin on site would also be nice and the plaque further up the trail with a woman and a dog or two is not readable on horseback. I look forward to coming back to experience the seasonal trails.
@@followmyride6970 Thank you for your input. It’s good to hear impressions from first time visitors. Please do return. There is a lot more to explore on the summer trails.
So Beautiful!
It's one of the favorites around here.
Hello from NW NC, I love that you take the time to do training along the trail, sometimes its training for the horse AND rider but the good thing is the success. Thank you for sharing your rides with us especially since I am horseless at the time and I love watching....for now. 🙂
We agree. Riding and training go hand in hand. My friend's horse is a young mustang. She has a great mind. I'm glad you enjoy watching. Thanks for commenting.
Sounds like a great success! Well done. He's a cutie.
He's a work in progress as most 14 month old dogs are.
Your videos are amazing! If you like farming or harvesting videos, I look forward to having you visit my channel to have relaxing moments together!
Thanks. I'll check it out.

This video is smell-a-vision. Damp, earthy, and cool.
Check out Groundwork Collective, 3 Saddle Bums, NW Equine trails, EquineVideoProd. All very different but each have positive aspects. I live in Oregon, ride a Kentucky Mtn horse and have an older OTTB who's retired. I trail ride & horse camp. Your a lucky lady, your mare seems to be a great partner with you. Take your time finding the right dog. Not all dogs are good trail dogs, even the ones who's owners claim they are. Trail dogs should be 100% voice controlled or left @ home. I used to ride with a gal who insisted on bringing her Jack Russell on our rides but after 6 Mos of her dog running off during the ride and her asking for us to go back and find him every time I stopped riding with her. Check out you local animal shelters. Rescue a new bestie! Good luck and happy trails!
That is great advice. I ride with 2 friends with excellent trail dogs. More than likely my dig will be a camp buddy who stays at camp while we ride. Very few trails allow dogs. I'll check out those channels. Thanks.
As a fellow Washingtonian, I love watching you go riding places, I actually know where you're at. Wish I had horses to come ride with you all. It's always a pleasure to watch your adventures. Happy New Year 🎉 2024
Thank you. Happy New Year to you as well. Have you had horses in the past?
@followmyride6970 I grew up riding and doing Jr. Rodeo, then got married and had a kid. I worked at stables and took care of 35 horses a few years ago. Unfortunately, I do not have horses, but I am always looking to be around them and have them in my life as I get older now. So, watching the adventures of others and their horses on KZread is such a pleasure. Thank you. Look forward to your journey exploring Washington State!
Thankyou So much for your video! I grew up riding those trails so long ago when I was a girl. They have done such a good job with those trails. I sure miss them. It's quite a treat to see them again and reminisce about those times. Thanks again!
I'm glad you enjoy my videos. I'm a member of Washington Trail Riders Association. We, along with Washington Trail Association (hikers), do a lot of maintenance on these trails and Rock Creek trails.
Looks like a fun day 💖
This was a great ride with friends and a perfect December day to go.
Great to watch, can you tell me about your horse, seems like such a great trail horse. Tracey (Australia)
Hello. Her name is Paris. She is 22 years old and she is a Morgan/Arab cross. I've had her since she was 6. She is a great trail horse. She used to be all go. It's kinda sad to see her getting gray and slowing down. Thanks for watching and commenting. Do you ride?
Look at Dottie go, leading the way♥
She's always the lead horse. Blind leading the sighted, go figure.
You have a beautiful place and horses! 😍
Thank you. I hope you enjoy my videos.
I rode this trail today and the rock had been found. LMK if it was you. Also, LMK where you rode this week.
The yellow flowers are Scotch Broom. Pretty, but sadly very invasive. Left alone they'll choke trails like no other lol. We're in Toutle, about 50+minutes north of Ariel ^^
Where abouts in Winlock?
SW Washington State north of Vancouver.
Love a squeeky saddle. Tracey (Australia)
Great ride/Video. Tracey (Australia)
@btgoble I bet you have great riding in Australia.
Who else rides Willapa Hills?
This gave me such a big smile! There was a horse at the barn I used to go to as a kid that splashed like that! We had to keep her away from puddles on trails or she'd try to lay down even with a rider and saddle on!
7:43 It looks like that tree across the path has been there for some time. Why doesn't anyone just get off and cut it?
I guess because it's so easy to get around or some like to go over it.
I grew up in laCenter. Currently in Ridgefield. Hi neighbor
Hello, what us your favorite local ride? I hope you subscribe and enjoy my videos. Happy Trails
