I hated how in Bed Friend Uea had been assaulted many times and usually those assaulters were punished but why was King's act overshadowed? He took advantage of Uea, slept with him when he was completely drunk and traumatized him. Then he was beating those who assaulted Uea but he assaulted him as well. Just never got the rightful punishment as ML. I don't mind assaults, rxpes in BL but it's usually potrayed wrong. MLs actions shouldn't be excused just because he is the main love interest and he should do some serious self reflection on himself. If he's not aware he hurt his lover, he should visit a therapist cuz it's not normal. That normalizing is so gross

Kinnporsche is a bit of a grey area. Ypu could consider what Kinn did to be rape. Although Porsche was making positive speech and actions like he was consenting, his drink had been spiked by Vegas. Porsche was under the influence of the drugs when Kinn had sex with him and therefore couldn't consent whether it was Vegas or Kinn.

If BL is written by women, created for their enjoyment. Then any rape scene inside BL is an example of the fears women have and internalize inside themselves. I know as a woman, that fear grew in me at an early age. Just learning that society was like that and that as a young woman, I needed to be careful what I displayed or who I trusted in the world. When BL portrays such scenes, I often feel a rush of fear for the main character, but also a sense of love and affection for him even more, as I feel he knows my fears as well. It plays on my need to protect him and adds to the drama. It helps me deal with my own feelings on the matter, and that beautiful save from his love interest makes some of my own fears die down. Because a positive outcome happened and he was saved. Rape is sadly a fear most women internalise. Of course in some female-written shows, it will show up. It's not highlighting it as a good thing, but it is being used to bring at least some sense of internal stress relief as it is used in fictional drama. I do think it has its place. Nothing is wrong with exploring it in a safe space. It teaches us all how to look for signs in partners or people that may be out to harm you. It teaches us the red flags to pay attention to. Be safe, everyone. And if you see any of the red flags, be sure to seek help. Xxx

In the books of love in the air , pit babe and bed friends it is put differently they do deal with it but because there is just so much time and things they want to have in the series they rush this parts more. With babe they show his trauma his meds and more in bed friends they show how he is getting better and how they do really deal with the boss in love in the air the way pai treats and helps sky is different.

4:02 compared to the previous rape [attempts] when the victims were either hypnotised, drugged or inebriated, Uea was in command of all his faculties. agree with you on the toxic and highly inappropriate rape scene in Addicted/Heroin, the worst aspect of an otherwise good show. let's see what the Thai remake will do with this. it is in the works right now. 2:03 another rape scene between [step]brothers was in the corresponding HIStory 4 _Close to You_ another very poor example of handling the aftermath of a rape was shown in the popular Thai BL show _TharnType_ . the victim doesn't do anything to bring his assailant to justice. the system (police/courts) are not considered helpful. one could ask why on Earth is rape not only a quite frequent topic in BL shows but also handled/protrayed very questionable. the culprits are rarely brought to justice. the victims suffer in silence. maybe it is because most BL writers are female and write from a female P.O.V. and women all over the globe battle with this problem btw: the music didn't help enjoying your video

Earlier BL series they handled the issue really poorly like falling for the assaulter...WHAT THE DUCK THE SERIES, THARNTYPE, A CHANCE TO LOVE . But THE EFFECT THE SERIES have handled the quite sensitively, it actually showed how it can leave an negative impact on the victim and also the JUDGEMENT THE SERIES. Both the series showed the dark side and how it breaks the victim which can lead to the unthinkable. Though it was extreme but it was somewhat close to reality that it can break you to leave one doubting self worth and life. Though none of mentioned series showed any actual solution but it was a good try. And the Series that you are mentioning also handled these topics as if they handling bricks not some sensitive topic, they either didn't acknowledge the problems not didn't show enough impact or the healing process.

In Tharn Type besides the pervert old pedo Tharn also once crossed his limit yet it was taken lightly. But BL's are coming a long way specially in Between us when Win confirmed and took proper consent from Team. They are improving.

The problem isn't that there are R*ape scenes in BL. It is the way it is shown and the repercussions. Sky is already traumatised by his abusive toxic ex when he has the dubious consent 1 night stand with Prapai in ep 8 of Love In The Air. He is damaged and synical about s*x. Sees Prapai as a f*ck boi. He is stand offish. Eventually Prapai persuades Sky that he is serious and genuine. Then Sky's ex turns up RE-Traumatises Sky, he is 'saved' by Prapai (Rain and Payu) and just a 'talk' with Prapai heals him. really come on. This belittles the trauma and the real work that needs to be done to heal from r*pe. If BL writers want to include male r*pe, a subject which people are still down playing in society at least deal with it responsibly. I don't particularly like Bed Friend and there are a lot of issues with the way they use s*xual assault and abuse of Uea but at least they say he is going to counselling, shown to be taking antidepressants and his abuser is arrested. They could have done a lot more in Bed Friend but I will take what they did and hope for better in the future.

With Tharn/Type it made me angry (I haven't seen the others) that they don't bring out the fact that rape isn't about love or sex. Rape is about control and manipulation. And the guy that did that to Type didn't do it because he was gay. He did it because he's a pedophile and a pervert.
@@crisdarger183 I agree with you point. What irks me most is how they romanticize r@pe in BLs or many fictions. In Tharn Type besides the pervert old pedo Tharn also once crossed his limit yet it was taken lightly. Also those drunken episodes In series...those are nothing less than r@pe cause a drunken consent should not be counted as they are not eligible to think at that time. But BL's are coming a long way specially in Between us when Win confirmed and took proper consent from Team. They are improving.

The problem isn't that there are R*ape scenes in BL. It is the way it is shown and the repercussions. Sky is already traumatised by his abusive toxic ex when he has the dubious consent 1 night stand with Prapai in ep 8 of Love In The Air. He is damaged and synical about s*x. Sees Prapai as a f*ck boi. He is stand offish. Eventually Prapai persuades Sky that he is serious and genuine. Then Sky's ex turns up RE-Traumatises Sky, he is 'saved' by Prapai (Rain and Payu) and just a 'talk' with Prapai heals him. really come on. This belittles the trauma and the real work that needs to be done to heal from r*pe. If BL writers want to include male r*pe, a subject which people are still down playing in society at least deal with it responsibly. I don't particularly like Bed Friend and there are a lot of issues with the way they use s*xual assault and abuse of Uea but at least they say he is going to counselling, shown to be taking antidepressants and his abuser is arrested. They could have done a lot more in Bed Friend but I will take what they did and hope for better in the future.
