Welcome to my channel, where you'll find everything travel & minimalism!
I've discovered important ways to calm my mind at home (through organization, decluttering, and creating calm spaces) and abroad (by beating my fear of flying and traveling alone, packing more intentionally, and organizing my trips ahead of time).
The goal of this space is to empower you to do the same!
I'd love to hear from you, so definitely shoot me a message if you think there is any way I can help, or you have video ideas for me to make to help you out.

Great video
Thank you!
I’ve started doing this but sometimes I want to read a physical book so I figured as a compromise I’m going to start supporting the local library and borrowing books at least this way it’s a happy medium and still get the thrill of physical book without buying them
I'll forever be jealous of people with good local libraries!! I live in Portugal and so most books in libraries here are in Portuguese, and I don't like reading translated novels that are originally in English. Or else I'd 1000% do this too 🤩
I'm a little back and forth with the Apple Watch as a minimalist tool. I've been wearing an Apple Watch every day for over 7 years now. In the last couple weeks, I've been wearing it less and less. I've noticed my anxiety levels have dropped. I'm not super-aware of notifications popping up (I have it limited to just phone calls and texts on both my phone and watch). I'm not worried about filling those exercise rings daily. I'm not worried about fitting in a workout in on those days where I just can't do anything more. On the other hand, as you've mentioned, the watch can also help with anxiety. When I have panic attacks, my heart rate does go up, and I can use that breathe app. I'm very back and forth whether I want to keep it or go back to my old mechanical watch I was using before my first smartwatch. It's an old, minimal watch that still works and looks perfect. Over the last 7 years, I've spent a lot of money on different Apple Watch upgrades. Thanks for sharing what you use yours for!
I think the best way to find out is to make the swap for 1 month and note how you feel/what you miss! I love experimenting with these things and for me I go through periods where I use it every day and periods I don't touch it for months. For example, I haven't put on my apple watch daily for about 3 months now, but DO put it on for exercise sessions to track my workouts for motivation. When you buy these things long term, they're always fun to fall back in love with for a season.
All laser dont come with the app though. Hmmm.
Yeah not all of them do unfortunately!
It was amazing! Loved your video and I wanted to congratulate for being such an excellent English speaker. I am from Argentina and just wanted to remark your skills at the language, which can be difficult to achieve for non-native speakers like us. Excellent footage and edition!
This means so much more than you know 🥹🥹 thank you for leaving me this lovely comment 🥰💕
Sofia sua voz é tao tranquila de escutar, amei todos os seus vídeos! ❤️
Awww muito muito obrigada 💕
I’m so excited to go!!
Have the best time!!
I have the Kobo Clara HD too! Going on 3 years with it and I have no desire to replace it with a newer version. I got it on sale for just under $100. It’s the perfect size and I exclusively read library books with it. With overdrive/libby, it’s just too easy to get free library books so I’ve only ever purchased one book 😅 I do recommend that folks try to borrow an ereader from a friend if they can or do their research to make sure it’s a useful product for them because to make up for the device’s carbon footprint you must read at least 36 books. This is not a lot for big readers, but for people who only read a handful of books a year, I don’t think it’s worth the investment or environmental cost. Just my two cents as I’m seeing them trend more and more and I worry people are influenced to buy them simply because everyone else is. Silver lining though - people may be able to find them in secondhand stores!
I am SO jealous of you for having Libby access! I don’t here in Portugal, and I think it’s so so cool. And I didn’t know the cool fact about the 36 books 😍 pretty sure I did that in the first 6 months hahah but definitely if you plan on keeping it long term it’s absolutely doable as you say. Loads available second hand indeed!
Nice video! Thank you. Are you Portuguese? Your English is amazing! How can you speak English so well without any Portuguese accent?
Yes I am! Thank you so much 💕 I went to an American school in Portugal from when I was 3 years old to when I was 18. So I grew up bilingual 🤩
@@SofiaAbrantes Fantastic! Thanks for your response.
Love this video!
Glad you enjoyed it!💕
Why MacDonalds breakfast.......what about all the amazing diners and bagel places??
Hi! I completely understand your question and please know we did check out a lot of diners and bagel places as lunch/mid afternoon food stops. But using McDonalds means we got to save 10-20% each meal by using the self-service screens and not having to pay a tip, which is the case in diners and bagels. We're also from Portugal, so we got to try all the USA-exclusive things on the McDs menu, which we love doing every country we go to (Japan was super fun, for example). It helped us manage our budget bit better ☺️ hope this clarifies it, and have a great day!!
Thank you for this video! I’m going for the first time in December 😊
You’re very welcome! Have the best time 💕 it must be beautiful during Christmas, it’s on my bucket list to go back to see the lights

Bolo do caco does not have meat in it
Bolo do Caco is the name of the bread, the sandwiches that are made with it vary. The most common/traditional one is the "Prego", which is with meat
@@SofiaAbrantes Bolo do Caco is traditionally eaten warm with garlic and parsley butter. You can also get pao com chouriço which is also very popular. They do make prego with Bolo do Caco as well
@@willie549 It depends on where you go 😊 I'm Portuguese
Which part of Madeira are you from?
@SofiaAbrantes Also Bolo de caco comes from Porto Santo Island
Great, informative content!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video - Thank you for sharing. Question- did you have to pre book/reserve the times for each of the NY pass attractions when you bought it? or you can just walk-in to them?
Some you can walk in, others you have to pre book! On the pass app or website you can see for each activity whether there is any pre booking necessary. Off the top of my head we had to pre book Empire State, The Ride, the sunset cruise, and The Edge. So I’d assume yes unless the website says so for each. Either way, pre booking was really simple and required only clickling a link on the page and picking a time/date. It’s also handy because it allows you to skip the line and waste less time waiting each day
Onced buying the new york pass, did you have to do another reservation for a certain day/ hour for the attraction? How does it work?
Every activity works differently, but if you get the New York Pass app or look on their website, each activity has set instructions on how to reserve/prep your trip. I know that Empire State building and The Ride required booking the times in advance, as well as the sunset cruise. All of them were fairly simple, and the info pages had detailed step-by-steps from what I remember :) Hope this helps
@@SofiaAbrantes thank you so much! Your vlog is definitely an inspiration for me as we are going soon :) Im just a bit overwhelmed atm 🙈

Hey. Do you mind sharing your budget?
We had a $600 budget for activities ($400 of which went into the NYC pass for four days which covered most activities), $1000 budget for food ($100 per day, $50 per person) and our hotel was $1200 for the 8 nights!

How was eating out? Was it hard with the language barrier? :)
Not at all! Even in restaurants where they didn’t understand English, they always tried their best to understand us and were super patient and kind. We had nothing but wonderful experiences, especially when it involved interacting with locals 💕

We're going to New York in May 2024 and I've watched a lot of videos online about New York, just now I saw your videos, I watched some videos from your channel and it feels like friends talking,i love it ...I just watched your wedding video and it felt so full of happiness and sweetness. Lately, I've been quite reluctant to get married; as they often say in Chinese nowadays, fear of getting married. But watching your video made me feel that marriage can indeed be a very happiness thing. So, I really appreciate you sharing your video.😀😀😘

Nyon flight is the biggest highlight, i wish i was brave enough
Honestly I was SO nervous for this, and the takeoff had me sweating, but once you're up there everything just stops for a few minutes... I don't know how else to explain it, your brain just turns off and is completely in awe
