Since it is in gear, and the other side is locked - you are turning the engine over. Even with a 100% open diff, if you lock the pinion - you cannot turn the wheel up in the air if the other side is locked.

The switch has open and closed. (on and off) You can't change that. When the fuse is pulled or in this case the circuit is open, it will be loud. There isn't a way to 'fix' it. Maybe change switches but know that on is going to be quiet and off is going to be loud regardless of what switch you use.

A year later i went to buy 1 tank and was being charged for my usual 3 tanks. I said, no i just need 1 tank. They said, yeah thats for just 1 tank now. Took me about 20min to wrap my mind around it. @@johnperez93640 You do know then, that a very small amount of leakage (at least in older systems) is designed in. In particular the compressor shaft seal leaks a little so the pag oil can lube the shaft. Topping off is a service item, like adding air to tires, air leaks out of tires too. Such is life. Thank you for posting, happy 4th!

I've been pretty lucky with my 2006 GMC Yukon. It still blows ice cold with the original charge at 145,000 miles. I always have the Auto A/C on so the compressor is always running - perhaps this keeps all the orings and seal pliable???? On the other hand, our 2006 Honda Accord with the auto a/c and also always running, I've had to add R134 A every 4 years or so. A win for GM!

I did not use the dip tube, probably it's better with as it puts the cold refill water down away from where the hot exits, but yeah it'll still work. Maybe a bit less efficient. If you look hard you can find one (fitting) with dip tube included.
