I was a 6th grade science teacher for 15 years, a special education teacher for 4 years and taught 5th grade for 1 year. Loved it so much…retired early (too early, maybe) and love staying home and decorating my empty nest with my (still working CPA) husband of almost 52years. What are your husband's plans once he retires from the military?
Hi there! He actually just started his new position! He works for the recovery coordination program assisting recovering service members obtain internships. He is loving it and loves still being involved with the military and service members in that capacity. Thank you for asking!

I still maintain my certificate, so that is an option, but it wouldn’t be until after all my girls are in school full time. I do miss teaching from time to time but I absolutely love being home with my girls and all of our crazy dogs! I would enjoy being about to do KZread full time, hopefully that night be an option. Hi Ashley!! Your living room looks so pretty and cozy!! Many thanks to your husband for his service! My late husband retired with over 22 yrs in the AF and our son did the same. I was a stay at home mom with 4 kids - 1 boy and 3 girls. We lived in base housing as well as off base. So over those years I loved being able to decorate my home on a budget. I so much prefer the vintage/antique pieces that I find, compared to anything new. Thank you for sharing! 😊

I’ve been subscribed here for a while and really enjoy your videos. I’m also pretty neutral however I add pops of blues in summer. We have a little bit in common. I just mentioned in my last video that I have just retired from the school system as I was a paraprofessional in a kindergarten so I know just where you’re coming from. So nice that you can stay home with your children.❤
I really appreciate your kind comment and thank you for supporting my channel! I mostly love neutrals, but a little bit of color here and there is sometimes a nice change! I prefer muted tones of colors though. Kindergarteners will keep you on your toes! I loved that age though, Pre-k was my favorite, but kindergarten was a close second! I’m sorry, there must be some confusion here. Maybe something was misunderstood? If you could explain, I would appreciate it. I am married to a disabled veteran of 22 years in military. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps for 14 years and the Navy, so, I, of course, have a deep appreciation for veterans and all they have done for our country. So, if something I said was misunderstood, I would appreciate you letting me know because I certainly would never say anything to be disrespectful.
Maybe something was confused about when I said I don’t use “Americana” decor a ton in my home? I don’t believe I said I didn’t like it, I was only explaining that I just use it sparingly, just as I do with much of my seasonal decor. I think also said that I really love the red and blue for the summer, so I am just trying to understand what was said exactly because like said, being married to a veteran, I would never say or do anything to be disrespectful.

Hello Ashley. It was really fun to see the outside of your home. It looks so adorable and charming. When you have a home it is always a work in progress. There is always something that needs tending to and we can't always do it all at once. It is so nice that you have a wonderful backyard for your children to play and for you to gather as a family. You did a great job on your planting and like you said as we go along from year to year, we see what works in our yards and what doesn't. Just the fact that you are trying is already an accomplishment. All your flowers in the front are so pretty and the ladder with the flower boxes are so cute. I love all the planting you did. The wreath was so pretty. I especially love the hreenhouse made with the windows. The rose just set it off. Just watch it real close, being under the glass may cook the rose. So pretty. Enjoyed this video.
