I just replaced the humidity sensor according to your instructions and it worked great . . . . for about a week. I'm getting the same error again. Your instructions were so precise and made it so easy but I can't figure out why I'm getting the same code again. When I took it apart, I noticed there was rust on the screw holding the sensor in. Does this mean something else is wrong? Should I bother ordering another sensor and replace it again or just give up and purchase a new dehumidifier? thanks.
Please send us a message via contact form on our website with your order number.
Problem solved! Thanks!
Wanted to send a quick thank you for this video + the product! Saw the EH error on a 4 year old Honeywell TP50WK and didnt want to have to buy a whole new $300 unit. But just a $29 sensor swap and ~3 minutes of work and now my unit is running perfectly again! Very happy customer!
thanks for making this video. i just ordered replacement part today so hoping that will solve problem with dehumidifier!
My dehumidifier is not turning on, any idea please?
When bucket is out this model do not turn so make sure the bucket is in place. Other common reasons that control board (the one with buttons on top panel) or power board got defective.
Bucket in, I will check the control board, thanks
Is there a way to keep the sensor dry? It's the second time I'm going to change it. It has rust on it. Seems to be getting water on it.
If dehumidifier located in extreme humid environment, I'm afraid not much you can do about it. You may try to replace the unit with higher end or industrial dehumidifiers, however there is a chance that components in those also will get rusted.
thanks, this video was very helpful for disassembly of my mad50ps. Do you know where I can get a longer ribbon? I want to relocate the sensor further away from the unit to reduce the cycling.
You probably won't find longer wire separately. What you can do it to cut it, add some wire at the desire length and splice it back together.
Ours seems to work properly in every way, except it will not automatically turn on. If I shut off the power, wait a few seconds and turn it back on, it will run for a while. On continuous, it will also shut itself off after a while. Does that sound like the sensor, or something else?
Most dehumidifiers have minimum set of 30-35% to operate. And depends of what your location is, it is common for the humidity level to go below this point at this time of the year therefore dehumidifier will not work. If this is a case, nothing wrong with your dehumidifier.
I don't get a humidity sensor code but I continue to get a high reading that doesn't change like 61 to 63 I can blow on the sensor and the reading increases A dial meter indicates 50 percent do I need a new sensor
If you blow on the sensor and reading increases, most likely nothing wrong with the sensor.
Hi! My whirlpool is showing error code 2. It runs for a bit then stops. I tried resetting which helped it for a day but it’s not running because of the error
Does it collect any water when it works for short period of the time?
@@qxparts yes
with faulty humidity sensor you will get error code E1 or E3, or completely wrong reading. Most HVAC motors including dehumidifiers have function to shut off to protect itself from overheating. Majority of the times this happens when system is low with refrigerant. In rare cases it could be bad control board, but most likely it has nothing to do with humidity sensor.
It seems planned obsolescence is the name of the game in appliances these days. I have a "discontinued" Whirlpool WHAD703AW dehumidifier that displays the E3 error code. The filter screen is a clean as the day I bought it so it's not the external screen. I does make water but before the bucket gets full I get the E3 code and the fins on the coil are frozen over. I have removed all the screws but nothing wants to come apart and I resist the urge to pry it open in fear of breaking some unseen plastic locking tab. Can anyone help me with this model?
Issues with humidity sensor on this model would show up error code EH, not E3. Based on manual error E3 indicates drain problem.
@@qxparts It turned out to be an easy fix. I simply bought a Pelonis dehumidifier.
Just make sure you've got warranty on it. All dehumidifiers have exact same issues, regardless of the brand.
does this work for ge Dehumidifier ADHL35LA? It looks similar but not quite the same when i pop'ed mine open.
Could you please send us photo of your faulty sensor?
Did you get it to work? I'm having the same issue. If the sensor is the same, I think it should be replaceable, but not seeing any sensors available to purchase for the ADHL
@jacob_mcm What error code you getting on your dehumidifier? Can you please email us photo of your faulty sensor?
This specific sensor will not fit into ADHL product line, however we do have another sensor for ADHL models. Please keep in mind, ADHL models have few different types of sensors, so make sure you get correct one. Feel free to send us a message via contact form on website if you have compatibility or any other questions.
I have a Frigidaire unit, it runs for about 3 mins then shuts off. The display also reads 30. Humidity sensor is my best guess, do you agree? Do you carry one for Frigidaire?
Honeywell has absolutely zero customer service or info on their sensor, so thank you, QXParts, for this information and getting me my new sensor so quickly. Humidifier working again!
I don’t have any error code but fan is running but not collecting the water , what will be the possible issue ? Thank you
Leaked out refrigerant will cause this behavior. Unfortunately it is not cost effective to recharge the unit and only option would be to get new dehumidifier.
Hi, my GE humidifier had the similar symptoms, I changed the sensor. It runs for an hour then stops and never reaches to my setting. Compressor does kick on. Are there other sensor beside this and temperature sensor?
I'm afraid the refrigerant leaked out from the system and you may need to buy brand new dehumidifier.
@@qxparts there was no signs of leaks. Thanks anyway
@@kazemashrafioun2492 You can’t tell how severe the leak problem is with human eyes. To detect the leak, you have to recover the refrigerant and charge the system with nitrogen gas to detect the spot of leaking. Then weld the spot and charge it with refrigerant. The cost of buying the refrigerant is more than the cost of the dehumidifier. That is why he recommends to buy new dehumidifier.
Very helpful. Just bought your part and installed. Working great. Thank you.
My dehumidifier freezes up at the back. Starting at the bottom and goes up 3 coils. What could cause that? Thanks
Check if there any airflow blockage such as dust and dirt on air filter and coils. Also, make sure blowing fan working properly. Also low or lost refrigerant can cause evaporator coil icing because of abnormally low pressures on the low side of the system. If you see greenish mold anywhere near coils, tubes or motor, that's an indication of leaked out refrigerant.
My 22 pint one that I just bought keeps turning itself off
Most likely it has refrigerant leakage and it keeps turning itself off to protect the motor.
Mine doesn't light up when connected, it only does a "peep" sound. What do I do?
Seems like behavior related with bucket sensor. Bucket must be in place for the unit to turn on. If not, make sure the small switch button is being pushed when you place the bucket back in place. Also, sometimes it happens that float is popping off from its position. If this is the case, you will need to place it back.
Hey I have the same dehumidifier. For some reason it stops shortly after turning it on. Not sure what is the cause for this. How would one fix it
It is possible that your dehumidifier low on refrigerant and it shut off itself after short time due to self protection of the motor. I'm afraid that in this case you will need to replace whole unit because it's cheaper rather then looking for HVAC professional to fix broken pipes and to refill.
Thank you for showing me how to open and close dehumidifier. I don't have an error code. I just wanted to clean it, but it's pretty clean--unlike fans. I stopped using it a year ago as I didn't think I was getting enough water out of it. I'm ready to try it again. Thanks again.
I have this dehumidifier and my problem is that the up down humidity controls don't respond. I can switch to continuous and it seems to work (makes fan noise anyway). Does this sound like a sensor issue? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
It's possible, but with faulty humidity sensor you normally would get an error code. You may have an issue with control board itself. That's another part of dehumidifiers which goes out after some time.
@@qxparts Thanks. I thought so.
Watched your video bought your part dried my basement. Thank you very much!
Very helpful! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
