  Amazing at any age! I’ve always loved the final movement, though it doesn’t enjoy the renown of the first two. Its opening measures sound fiendishly difficult, and it seems to go uphill from there! Bravo, and thanks for posting.

  This recording features a 16-yr-old me playing the Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo for the BBC Classical Star final round in 2007. Whilst not a perfect performance, it was my 1st time as a concerto soloist, having learned the piece for the final round in just 5 weeks. To make things more interesting/worse/stressful/exciting, I actually scalded my right hand with boiling water in the canteen just after the afternoon dress rehearsal! Despite all this, there is a certain youthfulness in the performance which makes it worth putting on KZread. 00:00 - Allegro con spirito 06:05 - Adagio 18:15 - Allegro gentile

  Really good chat, thank you. It would be much easier to keep up with your new interview content if it was a genuine "podcast" rather than a "TV programme" - like good old steam wireless for listening to! It's a bit of a stretch to watch a 90 minute interview especially after spending all day in front of a screen, but audio in the pocket can go anywhere with me. Regardless - best wishes, and keep it going however you do it.

  Thank you! The audio-only versions are on Podbean (although I haven't uploaded this particular episode quite yet. In saying that, I often 'listen' to KZread whilst cleaning up etc and this programme, which has no essential visual component, would lend itself well to that.
