This is perfectly lovely! I sure do enjoy how smooth it is and the simple look to Bambi.

Everyone worried about the stripes...As an animator, I'm fairly certain the stripes actually were helpful with foreshortening and maintaining volume. Milt Kahl probably loved that he's animating Shere Khan!

What's interesting is that Madam Mim and the ensuing magic duel appear in the original 1938 edition of T.H. White's book _The Sword in the Stone_ (part one of _The Once and Future King_ series), but she was completely omitted in later editions, well before the film was made. Meaning that, in context, her appearance here is something of an orphaned adaptation. A little sad, I think.

You know, stripes are very hard and expensive to animate. O'Malley from _Aristocats_ was originally going to have stripes to have him resemble a tabby, but they decided against it after the headache of having to animate Shere Khan. And yet, somehow, they still gave Tigger his stripes.

Just amazing. Like having a 3d rendering engine in your head. This is why art schools need to go back to teaching the academy fundamentals. Can’t do this today without them (unless your one of nine old men).

Both Ollie Johnstin and Richard Williams have made books on their expierences as an aimator, The Illussion of Life and The Animators Survival Guide. Both can be found for free on the Interner Archive as well. Give the Illusion book a read, theres some interesting history within it. The fundamentals are found in the Illusion book, and more depth of the 12 Princples are seen in the Survival Guide. Another fundamental is learning anatomy and gestures ect, which is what they do teach in art school. The illusion book reveals a good chunk of the 9 Old Men went to art school first, they themselves made the 12 Principles of Animations after they started animation. Theres a couple of free resources that expand on the Principles as well but practicing your self in my own expierence also gives you a gkod understandinng, and with no deadline too. Aaron Blaise, a Disney Animator has a youtube channel that goes into his process of the 12 Principles or just animating in general, gives art advice as well. (long rant but i just personally dont think something as cool and expressive as art and animation should *only* be behind a paywall of school and college)
