Hi everyone, welcome to my channel! I review robot vacuums and mops in a very imperfect house with kids, dogs, cats, ferrets and parrots. The messes they create represent the extreme of what the average household will experience, and I use all of the products I review for at least a month before I share my experiences so that you can know what to expect in your home.

@tempeman101 0 seconds ago I forced my iPhone to forget the 5GHz network. Connected the iPhone to the 2.4GHZ network. Then uninstalled and re-installed the roborock app. Then went through setup again and went smoothly after that

A lot of yapping for no reason "this advice may or may not help" stfu then and dont make a video about it.
It took mine one year to find the office on the brava jet
Makes no sense that Roomba engineers did not use polygons - modern OO-code makes this elementary. It’s easier to conclude they intentionally omitted this routine, basic feature.
You have changed my life.
Hi! I know this is an old video but my boyfriend is buying a robot vacuum secondhand and is between this and the Roborock S5 Max. Which one would you recommend? Fully hard floors no carpet so mopping matters
This is perfect!!! Before watching this video I tried everything from degreasing the platform and the wheels to even using sand paper on the wheels. I did notice that the ridges on the plastic pad had worn out and I was going to use sanding paper with double sided tape. But this solution hits it out of the park. Thank you!!!
Help horror 47😢😢😢😢😢
I had the same problem and I did what you say. Than it worked! Thank you so much
thank you

No, this doesn’t work for all of this. I’ve stippled both of my machines and they still don’t work. I’ve changed the wheels, I ruffed up the wheels EC nothing works. I always have to help them undock
This does not work anymore. What do I do now?
My man, I just bought this and I'm really excited to see how it performs. Also. You sound exactly like David Chase, writer of the Sopranos. Pretty dope
I advise You to try to reset to factory settings. Push and hold Home button and with pushed Home button, push Reset button using some kind of pin. It helped me.
my s8..been trying for 2 weeks no..its a nighmare..have changet to 2.4 ghtz..rebooted the robot..i mean why sell a product that you have to be pc expert for getting to work..anyway im from norway if that have any thing to say..
Absolute junk, sold mine after 6 months and got ecovacs.
Sold mine, both j7 and braava combo after 6 months. Useless.
Some manufacturers introduced 1 blowing and 1 sucking port, instead 2 sucking ones. Everyone is still learning obviously.
did a better job, not by lot, but significantly ... wait what now :D
my roborocks all have problem with the lidar tower after a few month, stopping spinning, getting stuck.
My roomba map my apartment exactly like it is, but when I use room select and send it to my kitchen it can never find it, it will move around, say error and return home.
Tried it last night for the first time. I'm impressed! Did "deep scrubbing" with water settings to "high" (not max). It wiped everything!
Oh man! What about Roomba i3 or i5 ? Do they also scratch the floor surface ?
What robot is this? I want to get rid of my trifo.... It's garbage. The app is so bad

Well you proved my suspicions are right and I've only had mine for a day or two. I have Pergo laminate whether satin type finish and started noticing scratches right away. The brushes are very soft so I don't know where the scratches are coming from but this is a great review and I hope more people see it. Probably a great product for everything but hardwood or laminate flooring.
Tks for the video. Just got my i8 yesterday and am trying to learn it for two floors. The app isn’t always clear. Good to hear you have parrots, so do I, the main reason I got this. But I still have not mastered the mapping for two different floors but working on it. Oddly mine did not say anything about three mapping runs. Now let’s see how it does on those seeds. Tks again.

Good video. Id be interested in sourcing the after market pads.
You can have it mopping only!
Thank Goodness for this video I haven’t used mines in a while and my charger cord was mixed with several others I didn’t know which one was correct ❤thank you for showing the cord
I added a zone for thresholds and,I added one of my braava jet m6 and it does not respond to it
This was a brilliant test. I'm currently shopping for a new robot vacuum since my trusty 6 year old Neato D7 is no longer supported. At the top of my list was the Roomba S9+, but now I'm rethinking that since half of my floors are laminate. I also encountered floor-marring issues with the D7 though, since every time it left it's base, would move forward a few inches, stop, and spin the brushes for a while. This left a shiny spot on the laminate over the years where the brushes were constantly buffing the floor. In addition, the D7 really did a number on the hallway Berber carpet by fraying the loops. After a few months of use, I banned the vacuum from going onto any carpeted areas. Hoping to find a good vac soon that will work well on all floor types. Meanwhile, my powerful Kenmore upright is still working great after 20 years.
wow how bad did the cat kick it's ass at 6:16 so that it ended upside down !
You must really like the sound of your voice
Thank you ❤
Great video and my first time with a mapping roomba, i3, missed my kitchen and family room completely which is an area north of living/dining. Worst then the mopping m6 which skipped areas near walls etc. I will try the foot approach, when time to replace any recommended vacuums with self emptying and lidar?
Like a drunk home from the bar. And footsies with the robot. You are very funny, my dude! HAH! Very informative, too. And I agree with @BabakHamedani -- music is very distracting (if not at a very low level, sans-lyrics, or classical), and it usually drowns out words that you are trying to hear being said in the video. Graphics also are usually poorly placed and cover parts of the tutorial you WANT/NEED to see. So...domo arigato, Mr. Roombato! xD
What's your username on eBay for purchasing the hinge? The Previously given URL now is broken.
By far the best J7/J8+ setup video!
Thank you a great review
Those aren’t official iRobot parts and that’s why they’re scratching your floors. I may be wrong but the official rolling bars don’t have that design.
They did at the time of the video. They have changed them since, but that has done nothing to address the issue.
@@MrRoombato hmm i use the current design and they’ve been working great for me with no scratches at all despite me having a relatively delicate wood floor. Sorry about your floors though and thanks for the videos they’ve been lots of help.
You my man are are my Hero of the month. I've been struggling to think of ways to help the is issue and it never crossed my mind to just tape a port off. You sir are a genius!
Great video. I noticed you have a cat with birds. Do you allow your birds out? I found a parrot and altho my Rottie is great with him. I don't think we could ever have a cat again. Any comments re: cat and parrot ownership? BTW, I am frustrated with my s9 roomba/Braava Mop 6 combo. First, the vacuum base had to be replaced as it would not auto empty bin. Second, the mop had to be replaced because it never shut off while charging and they sent a new one - WITHOUT A NEW BATTERY!!! I had a constant night light for 6 weeks and concerned about battery longevity. Stupidly I deleted the first map that was done great. Now I am remapping as I forgot to pick up rugs. However, the new map completely ignored my entire dining room and it will not allow me to add 'new cleaning zone suggestion'. No matter what. I have spoken to 5 real nice people for irobot, they just have a very difficult time speaking English. They have fixed everything and I love their products, but it is very frustrating to constantly get errors or issues. Thanks for listening and if you have a suggestion for the constant error trying 'to edit the suggested clean zone', I am all ears. I can't find anything on support that addresses 'unable to edit the suggestion clean zone suggestion'. Thanks
Yes, I let the birds out. The cat doesn't bother them. Although he'll kill wild birds if he gets out of the house, he knows not to mess with the birds inside the house. I don't know, I never taught him, he just knows. Sorry I can't help with the vacuum stuff, I stopped doing this about a year ago.
J9+ Review? wanna see if its worth over the S9 combo
Good video. Everything you covered is right on from our experience. Roomba is still the best out there IMHO. Even with it's quirks.
The main downside to Lidar from what I can see is height. It is better for mapping but would not fit under my couch. With 2 large dogs and all the fur this is a highly needed feature for us. But this would not be an issue for others. might be the reason they are not using it.
