    great tip Max…thank you…perfect timing for me as i’m probably going to install the fender extension…once the front fender portion is off, there’s 4 bolts holding the rear portion on ?…any issues with that coming off or going back on ?….my thought process here, is if it’s not too difficult to get the rear portion off, i’d install the extension with that part off of the bike…hold the extension in place, mark the inside of the fender with an awl and drill the holes from the inside of the fender so they’re perfectly aligned…thx in advance

    At 1:20 you can see that the owner installed the peg so that it folds up at a 90 degree angle to the motorcycle. Of course it would take a huge hit when it dragged. Shouldn't it be angled back like all factory foot pegs so when it drags it can have a chance to fold backwards instead of catching and transmitting the full force of the impact to the peg and associated mounting hardware? I blame whomever installed the pegs for this very dangerous issue.

    Love the idea and great location, but I have no way to install it and don’t know of anyone around here who can. That unfortunately is a showstopper, so I mounted mine on my handlebar for now.

    Say it like it is. I like to buy AMARICAN MADE, AMERICAN ENGEINNERED. I think the quality is better and the equipment is better. I wont complain about the price, I will just save up my pennies and do what I have always done and buy it when I can. Keep it up Max.

    It's easy on a G/Wing, electric preload on rear shock needs to be set to max, notice he never mentions this important fact, bike sag is virtually non existent then, hence it's piss easy to hoist bike onto centre stand ... why he's fannying around putting 2 guys on the bike is beyond me.

    Thanks for the video on freeing seized chuck, very helpful. Tried your method of heating screw on my Draper Storm Force but a lot of popping and banging and still didn't work. In the end I cut the end of the chuck off with a grinder just after the screw so I could get heat directly on it. Worked a treat. Trying to find a geared chuck as these Cheap Chines keyless are a pain - keep loosening.

    I would find a couple of L shaped hooks at Home Depot you can screw to studs. You could slide the two front holes of the subframe onto them and hang it that way.

    Can Honda make it more complicated to change the oil & filter on a GW? Three drain plugs to remove the oil. And let’s not use simple oil-rings to seal the drain plugs, well use single use aluminum crush washers instead. And for adding/checking the oil level…one hole to add oil, and another hole for the dipstick. And of course we want these two holes on different sides of the engine. Without a center stand you balance the bike in an upright position while removing and reinserting the dipstick. But first, run the engine for a while, turn it off, wait 2-3 minutes, then perform that upright balancing act while sitting on the bike. Some manufacturers have figured out how to allow you to check your engine oil while on the side stand. And most have also figured out how to place a single drain plug in the block at its lowest point so there’s no need to have multiple drain holes. And I still have not figured why Honda thought having separate holes for adding and checking the oil was a good idea. Guess the new GW engines are designed by committee…and those committees all work from home and no longer comprehend the practicality of what they design. Now, let’s talk about the simplest of tasks, changing the air filter…

  • @Traxxion

  • @Traxxion

    No, same spindle as 2018. They changed the torque on the crown nut in 2019 to avoid damaging it. The pin is just a backup. Cheap insurance. And now been awarded a US Utility Patent.

    Shouldn't you put the bike in gear when taking it off the center stand so that it won't roll forward and potentially off the kick stand?

  • @Traxxion
    @Traxxion13 күн бұрын

    You should absolutely, positively NEVER have the sidestand down when rolling the bike off the centerstand. Depending on the load on the bike it can drop onto the stand and tip the bike over to the right and pull it right out of your hands. You can also crush your foot possibly.

    Hi Max - Thanks for your informative video - For the removal of the screw, if I can add to the discussion: I found the best method was to use the small Makita rattle gun that you showed in the Video but I used a hex end Magnetic Extension Socket Bit Holder fitted to the driver and to fit the appropriate sized "Hardened" flat screw driver bit to it - Then insert the holder and flat blade into the chuck and hand tighten the chuck onto the round section of the bit holder - but not so tight as to prevent it from spinning - then set the driver to the "Right" as you mentioned - The main benefit is that you have the screw driver bit automatically centred on the screw, the ability to easily apply pressure onto the screw head and then the rattle gun effect to loosen the screw.

  • @Traxxion
    @Traxxion13 күн бұрын

    That sounds like another good method. I hope people see your comment!

    Very nice video. Nothing worse than warped, heavy/thick, T&G. Another tip to add to your arsenal would be a wedge.. Screw down a 2x on an angle; cut a piece of T&G on the same angle, keeping the groove side to slide along the tongue of the board you're trying to tighten up.. Works well on removing any gaps. Keep up the great work. I am a little jealous - at 70 yrs I can no longer bend my knees and hips as you do. Don't get me wrong. I'm still pretty agile but I remember those days even at 50 yrs diving for outfield balls. If I would give you 1 piece of advice - Ask any man that you see wearing knee pads when they started wearing them; before or after their knees started to hurt.. I can tell you their answer! 😉

  • @Traxxion
    @Traxxion13 күн бұрын

    That wedge is a pretty good idea, I like that! I have my lower 3 vertebrae in my spine are fused, and my spine is fused to my pelvis. I can't bend over like a normal person, so I don't use knee pads much when working on a floor or below floor level because I just can't bend down into it and the knee pads lift me further away! I would like to use them more when I can. I got some "Pro Knees" now, they are expensive but awesome comfort.

    First...thank you, thank you, thank you! (For all 3 parts) I am a fan and supporter of your products! My new '23 dct was delivered to me this week with more than a quart too much oil! People need to check and recheck like the "manual says"! And don't believe your dealer when he says "no problem". It's a problem! The dipstick extender is awesome. Saved a lot of aggravation checking and rechecking until my level was finally siphoned down to normal range. Grrr.
