Do you guys have a digital process or paper?
Hi there @michaelDavis-uu9zh, we have online courses and digital materials
Wow, truck of the month and guaranteed booking are great ideas. Do you charge in tiers where the 5 a month gets a week head start while 10 a month gets 14 days?
Can you provide more details on your question?
@@TheDogGurus for example normal customers can book up to 45 days away but preferred members who pay 5 dollars a month can book up to 60? And maybe further with a higher cost membership?
I am in the brainstorming and looking for a site location phase. How many day care and boarding enclosures should I start with if I don't have clients yet?
Thank you for reaching out as you embark on your daycare and boarding business journey. Determining the number of enclosures to start with is a crucial step in your planning process. I can’t attend Aprils conference, will there be another one this year?
Hi Gwen, sorry to have missed you at the conference. We are looking into putting on an event each year! Stay tuned for more. :)
I would adore working for y'all! I work at a growing corporate chain daycare / boarding facility and the employee turnover is crazy! It really seems like the majority of entry employees do not take pride in their work or go the extra mile to make the dogs happier and more comfortable.
We are so glad you're here. It's awesome hearing from people like you who love their work.
I've been watching your videos as much as I can. I did not know you had an online course!!! That's definitely something I'm looking into. These are so helpful even for a dog attendant!
That's fantastic to hear you've been finding the videos helpful! Yes, we offer an online course that you might find especially valuable. Our Dog Evaluations Course is designed to be very affordable and provides a step-by-step guide on implementing a dog evaluations system into your business. To register for the Dog Evaluations course go here: thedoggurus.com/dog-evaluations-registration/ Additionally, we have a staff training program that focuses on teaching your staff how to read canine body language and use positive reinforcement techniques for dog handling and management called Pet Guru College. Both of these courses can be incredibly beneficial for dog attendants like yourself, enhancing your skills and improving the overall experience for the dogs in your care. As a dog attendant for 4 years at 5 different dog daycares i really appreciate this video!
We are so happy you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching!
'promosm' ☹️
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
How do you also reward the teams in the back implementing the added activities sold by front desk/sales team, especially if lodging quantities are increased?
Hi Kyndra, Building a reward system really depends on what you are comfortable giving. It can be monetary rewards based on overall department goals or you can survey your team and ask what they would like as a reward. You’d be surprised with what they come up with. When I surveyed my staff they wanted a new stereo system and colorful dry erase markers. Those dry erase markers were like gold in my facility. LOL I’d start with asking for their input and then make your decision on how you reward them.

Hello!
Hi
Yes
Hello From West Virgina
What is a good price to charge per dog for a night in a kennel. And how can we upcharge? We will offer pick up and drop off, treats, toys and walks. Thanks.
I don’t own a business yet but this is how I would look at it: Pick up/drop off prices need to factor in: Gas per mile Vehicle Maintenance variable per mile Employee payment per hr Insurance costs per day Once you have these numbers you’d have a good base line. Then i would add 25% (10% unaccounted for maint and cleaning, 15% profit for upgrade or replacement vehicles) Not the end all but this is probably a good start.
❤thank you both!
Awesome
Thank you for this. Been working through Rover thinking of opening an in facility boarding/daycare
Yep, I worked at one horrible daycare. I pray they go out of business.
Nice Video But, the view is low due to lack of Optimization & Promotion in the video.
We had a huge outbreak in April 2023. It was devastating.
So sorry to hear that. We heard from other places they were experiencing the same thing. I hope everything is going well for you now. 💚
Is there a link to his company
This is great thank you very well done
I’ve learned so much from your videos! Thank you!
which software is best in your option?
A wonderful and informative video. Given me lots to think about! Thank you
That hula hoop method only works if you have a group of 5 dogs, but not when you have 25 dogs in camp or group
I want to start in my back yard and I have almost 2 Acers fenced in. Some shade but mostly sun. Is that space ok for 5 bigger dogs
You may have already found the answer you need. But to put this into perspective for you, a 20x25 ft rectangle is 500 square feet. If a large dog needs 100 square feet then an area this small would be fine for 5 large dogs. With 2 acres I would say your pups will be extremely well pleased. Hope that helps.
you guys are my best friends i'm so happy you exist i cant wait to utilize this for my daycare:D
Do you suggest a meet and greet for the pet and owner before taking a pet in?
This was absolutely fantastic, thank you for sharing.
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful
This was fantastic; As a relatively new dog kennel/doggie day camp owner I have found tons of helpful stuff from my Dog Gurus subscription. They were recommended by the staff at Gingr and it's been extremely helpful for a mostly newbie like me
Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad you found the videos helpful!
How can I schedule training sessions with clients? Do you do this during their lunch break? Outside of their work hours? Do you pull them off the floor for a bit and do the sessions with a few people at a time?
It depends on the time you have available. During lunch might work. Or you hire staff to cover the business while you train at other times.
Great episode🎉🙏
Great video - detailed and informative 🙏
Gem
Great information. Thank you
