did you know mammoth has 380% of the average number of realtors per community compared to US averages? strs are a subsidy so a bunch of poorly informed realtors with no land use knowledge can flip homes quickly and ski at the expense of entire communities. we dont need anymore realtors in mmth, we need about 70 of em to find less vultur-y professions or move to colorado. very telling a realtor posted this.

IF someone can't Airbnb their condo, they still have a floor at which they're willing to rent the unit out for, which still may be too high for those looking for housing. That's the video you should be focusing on. Those moving to Mammoth, choosing to live in their cars, how much are they willing to spend per month? The moratorium is utter nonsense. The truth is very simple: The cost to build housing is way too expensive. And the discounts for having affordable housing in your new construction project are way too restrictive. They're not using any logic. They should be encouraging short term rentals, while making it attractive for builders to develop there.

Couldn't agree more with you. We're CA builders, looking to develop there. Just look at the Obsidian residences, there is nothing "affordable about them". The cost to build vs what people expect to pay in rent for a new construction isn't aligned. If we develop, we're clearly going to look to maximize the rent, that's how every single business in the world works.

You mean, I risked my life for nothing. Those guys are idiots up there. I worked up there for 10 plus years. I was on the side of that mountain with a machine, carving it away For the zipline. I knew it wasn't gonna work just by looking at it. The angle was way too steep. They should all be fired up there. Get rid of everybody And start over. Engineering miscalculations you mean dumb Eastern Sierra engineers... love to ski there but that town has been so mismanaged the last 40 years remember when they went bankrupt people are still paying for that today I believe they barely got sidewalks on the main road through town a couple years ago... As someone who snowboards and wakeboards I feel like I could do this, BUT snowboards and wakeboards are different shapes different sizes not to mention the transfer from snow to water would be weird. Would def be a fun challenge but only in spring skiing lol, fuck doing this In the middle of winter
