Hi mate, actually I am close to buy this camera (my main camera is r6 atm) give me your advice how is it in terms of sharpness, bokeh? What cons? Would you recommend this? Can it produce fuji-like quality?

Hello, we're actually similar in our camera considerations! To answer your question, the lens on the Canon Powershot G1 X Mark III is very sharp in the center wide open. At F/2.8 at 24mm, the sharpness falls off slightly as you go to the corners. Stopping down helps and zooming in also improves image sharpness throughout the range. The bokeh is fine, but it's not very strong because the lens closes down to F/5.6 on the long end . There are better options is bokeh is a high priority. For cons, I'd say the image has low contrast on the wide end, which can make your photos look a bit flat when you transfer them to your phone. The DIGIC 7 processor is on the old side, which means that the latest Canon software features aren't available, and the autofocus is passable. The lens doesn't really challenge the autofocus since it's closed down a lot. The 1080p video footage is a bit disappointing for serious video work, and shooting video kills the battery life. I just carry spare batteries at this point. The combination of APS-C sensor, 24mm, and F/2.8 in such a small package is really the best part of the camera as zooming in significantly reduces the lens's light gathering ability. I just use it zoomed out when it gets dark. I love 24mm, so it's not an issue. Since its unique combination of features appeals to me, I love taking it along everywhere I go. I do recommend it for being able to take it out into inclement weather. The fact that the lens is stabilized, the body is weather sealed, and the body is tiny really makes it convenient to take with you. If you are OK with 24mm, then I do recommend trying it and maybe buying it. As for your last question, I honestly don't see too big of a difference between the image quality of the X-E4 and the X-H2S against the G1 X Mark III. I honestly prefer Canon color science. I think most colors and tones can be shaped to your liking in Capture One or Lightroom, anyways. Side note, I also have shot with an R6 and I love it for my professional work ☺

@@paulyeung6608 Thank you, friend, this is so helpful. I also prefer Canon color science, and I think Olympus have second best colors, or even the best... but it is 4/3 and I prefer paperish, magazine, flat, sharp look that aps-c gives with sharp lens... also looks like Ricoh is really the best aps-c in terms of overall pocketability and sharpness. Of price was lower I would buy g1x m3 ... but I think 800$+ for it is too high, it is great little camera, but at this price point there are options. Even Leica X2 in this price range) also with awesome colors and contrast.

Great video!! While taking pictures I feel slightly heat at the bottom of the xe4, is it normal for it to slightly heat?

I took these videos in September so it’s been awhile. Each shot was only fifteen seconds long so this was not an intensive scenario for the camera. Since the bottom of the camera is metal (I think), the heat from the video would dissipate through the top and the bottom. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it’s hot enough to burn your hand. 4K video can be very demanding on camera systems.
