Then you don’t really know what it means to be a true fisherman, or boat enthusiast. People blow 70k to buy a Mercedes or a Tesla to go to work and sit in traffic… I would rather drive an old beat up Corolla and have a 70k boat to truly enjoy life..

Speaking of Lucky Craft, that 78DD is a good deeper diving jerkbait, when they're keyed on slightly smaller bait fish, along with the Megabass X-Nanahan and X-Nanahan +1, they can be extremely effective as well when they're just light swiping at the bait and 100+ mm baits aren't hooking them well. But like you, I love a Vision 110! This past Sunday I was rearranging my jerkbaits and counted 78, 110's or versions of it (Silent, Jr's, +1's, and +2's) lol. I hadn't realized just how crazy my JB collection was getting. The kitchen table looked like inventory for a store 😳...lol.

New sub here. I really hope you continue with your channel as this is exactly what I was looking for. Going to retire back in Wisconsin in 5 years and have been trying to find a channel that not only was located in Green Bay but could do multi-species as well as present in a well thought out and experienced manner such as what I'm seeing here. Thanks for a great job. BTW, I appreciate you bringing up the fact that you often use spinning rods for your jerk bait presentation. I actually do not enjoy using a jerkbait on a casting set up, partly because we live in a windy area as well, but I really find I like what I can do with a shorter spinning rod and they are so versatile as you can use that same set up for skipping as well. The gentlemen from Megabass actually discusses that in a video he did a while ago on why they made the Orochi XX Ronin and the advantages to throwing a jerkbait on a spinning rod. It was very well thought out and matched my own experience. Thanks again and looking forward to following your channel.

What kind and strength line do you troll with?
@WalleyesAndMore4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jim! I run both monofilament and braided line when trolling, as some days one seems to outperform the other. On my rods with monofilament, I always use 12lb Berkley Big Game. It has the same diameter as 10lb Berkley XT, but is a little stronger and I think a little more abrasion resistance as well. For the braided rods, I use 10lb Berkley Fireline. Both the original and the newer Ultra 8 version work great! Thanks for watching, and let me know if you have any other questions or if there’s any other information I can provide!

Mike, I tried it a couple of times after you talked about it at your W.U. seminar but did not catch anything on it. Did not use it for very long and it probably was not under the best conditions. Will have to give it a more serious try this year. Any special time of the year it is best? Thanks for the tip. Rich

Hey Richard! I like throwing the MJ Rig throughout the year, but I think it really shines as the water warms a little bit, and especially during the post-spawn period. Anytime a traditional grub or paddle tail seems to be working, I like to mix in the MJ rig as something different. Some days it really catches them when the fish have seen too many of the other traditional baits. Just remember to trim down the bait a little bit, as it really does seem to make a big difference. Thanks again for watching, and let me know if you have any other questions, or have any ideas about something you would like to see in a future video!
