Mind your articulations, young man. You ought to remember this is Mozart, after all. There's a specific way to play Mozart. Thereupon, if there are slurs, don't separate those notes, let alone play them staccato.
@Hornsemble Жыл бұрын
You’re right! Need to unlearn those bad habits. Although I’ve heard recordings of professionals who take some liberty with the articulation too
@explodingcalzone42759 ай бұрын
Well it depends on the piece by mozart to, I mean most the horn concertos were for his buddy who was a virtuoso at the time and with that being said the pieces were written so his buddy could show his virtuosity off
@anomalousblackmesa5 ай бұрын
Barenreiter has a great version of the score, but there certainly is no better score than what's readily available as Mozart's fascimile, you can see his notes, handwriting, and humor to the horn player Joseph (Ignaz) Leutgeb for whom the concerti were written, and do feel free to also enjoy recordings of Dennis Brain, Alan Civil, there is also some fantastic period instrument recordings out there as well and if you're able to, practicing on a natural horn with a crook in D will give a wonderful understanding of the hand horn technique. For technique itself there is no better book written by W.A. Mozart's father, Leopold Mozart's Treatise on the Fundamental Principles of Violin Playing (Versuch einer gründlichen Violinschule) - yes it's for violin but it goes over many stylistic notes which help any any instrument. I hope this helps not only in articulation discovery, but musical discovery as well, you have a lot of talent, keep going and use the negative comments for fuel into becoming a positive influence and hopefully your life and music career will be happier and flourish
