I'm a self taught artist, and the creator of Ireland's original wildflower jewellery. Come follow me on my journey into the Lost Forest - a magical world that inspires me and my handcrafted jewellery.
My videos are portals to escape through and transport you into rural Irish farm life in Co.Cavan; venturing down leaf-strewn bóithrín with glimpses into hidden hedgerows, and rambles through sunlit meadows. Mother Nature holds a wealth of beneficial properties for us. She is our healer, muse, and an enduring friend in an often lonely society.

Yes, it's an interesting garden. But raised beds don't look natural. The English cottage garden look is based on the cottage gardens of the 19th century, planted almost entirely by poor country people who didnt have money to make "raised beds". The book "The Cottage Garden" by Anne Scott-James is the book that shows what they looked like. In my a garden I plant flowers exclusively, no vegetables or herbs or shrubs. the 19th century cottage garden was almost all vegetables, with a few flowers thrown in.
That’s because it’s not based on an English cottage garden. The cottage garden principles I mention are related to the planting scheme. Old Irish cottage gardens often used raised beds, made from dry stone usually, and it comes down to a very individualistic approach rather than a standardised formula or rule. I designed my garden to work best for me, and raised beds make it easier for me to garden as I have hypermobility. Everyone’s garden is unique to them and their needs, and that’s the best outcome in the end.

Here in the States May 27th is Memorial Day. People visit graves of loved ones and leave flowers. As my husband and I drove to the cemetery to do so, we stopped along the way to pick wildflowers. I picked a large bouquet of blooming purple grass feathers and remembered the beautiful blooming grasses in your videos.
