i did this on the ecumaster with the help of the lambda sensor, to get it somwhere in the ball park and to know where it sits. on the lean or rich side. later, i went for the engine feel. also engine temp plays a huge role. I had issues with a cold engine cutting out, had it spray like 200% of fuel while cold. ooof! at least it washes the carbon out of the rings. lol

@@NLamki2002 it depends on your level of expertise with wiring. Most stand alone ECUs need to be fully wired into the car. You will also need a wideband sensor so buy the time you buy a wideband controller it can make a cheap ecu the same price as something more featured. Take a look at the maxxecu street with lsu4.2 or if diy autotune has a plug and play that may be a good way to go

@@TurbineResearch those pistons don’t have the dome profile to match the 885 head and thus you’ll run into the common detonation issues associated with big stroke M20s. 885 combustion chamber is a semi hemi design and requires proper quench to run the way it should. Such quench cannot be achieved with a flat top style piston under an 885 head. As far as I know, JE is the only company with that dome profile on hand. Pistons with the correct 885 profile can be ordered from Top End Performance, or straight from JE if you’re used to spec’ing pistons

We use ethanol on Brazil a long time. Some gas tank has a treatment to deal with ethanol, but is rare. You need a plastic fuel tank. And always use pré-filters on pump, and inline filter.

Also I’ve heard it’s not that great on the foam in some thanks, transforms or dissolve the foam into jelly of sorts, and all that goes through lines and filters and it’s there to stay so upgrading the fuel system probably a must

Just my two cents, I'm about to attempt this, I have the oem seal sitting in the channel without any glue at this very moment. What I did notice when I removed the old seal was that a lot of rust was in the channel flat surface. The seal seems to have a channel in the rubber that is in contact with the metal (maybe to allow water to run down it?). I am going to try and only use the 3M seal glue on the outer edge of the rubber seal only so that If required I can carefully fold up and clean beneath it. Any type of sealant seems to hold moisture, I did not want to see any more rust on my e28.

Hi, great video here, very useful, thank you for posting. Q1: How did you seal brass coupling into manifold? Q2: Why use brass coupling instead of stainless steel? - brass could get dangerously close to it's melting point in many tuned cars, I bet you've seen orange-yellow glowing hot manifolds before. Moreover it has very different thermal expansion than this iron manifold, which increases stresses and may lead to failure overtime. While ss ain't a prefect it's a safer alternative.
