Kacey brought me here -- these videos are great!
❤
Dig this - able to do such a "flip" and still call it falsetto. That's being very true. Calling iit a very good and strong falsetto might even be considered less true. Keep it up, great show!
I'm in need of your prayers and support. Please keep me in your thoughts as I navigate my health journey.
I know the larynx should stay stable for singing. However, I would like to know if it is possible for the larynx to violently bob up and down without tension while singing?😊
Wow
This reminds me of the Estill Voice Training System approach to vocals. Brilliant ✨
Lets all try that. It's bit more to it than let's all try that
Really appreciate your good work and explanation brother but your “full compression” isn’t full voice and not even close to the intensity that Bruno sings in 🙏🏻
That’s because of several factors: Bruno is a short man with a naturally thin, highly pitched voice and he has a raspiness that gives the illusion of a more “chesty” tone (think of Christina Aguilera who adopts a similar style, even though she uses much more projection and resonance).
@@MarcoDorian i see what u r saying but in that case you’re wrong, that sounds more toward “speech level singing” kind of method which is not more than “strong head voice/falsetto” and not what Bruno does which is lots more vocal folds adduction
Love this exercise
Thanks for sharing how we can control our larynx movements when we sing high or low voice exercises. I enjoyed watching your singing class demonstration in this video.

Thnx much ❤
👍🏻👍🏻
During the creaky door exercise, is she mixing and holding that closure all the way up to that very high C, or is she letting go at any point into her head voice? BTW - You are an EXCEPTIONAL instructor. Not referring to the quality of your singing skills (which are great), but the way you clearly communicate and explain. That's been my biggest frustration with vocal instructors...not good communicators. But you are super at it. Bravo.
Thank you very much! Appreciate the gratitude. Certainly, as she ascends the scale the vocal registration is changing from chest voice, through mix coordinations, towards head voice. What remains consistent throughout is the light, efficient cord closure and the minimal breath force and effort. This gives the voice an even quality as she sings through her range.
Wow! loved the both of you! best coach ever!
Thank you so much! So appreciate it.
Those high notes almost sound like a mix. There is so much audible cord closure. Maybe that's due to the strength of your voice? This is where I struggle to tell the difference in what's going on in my voice. Falsetto is obviously. But then I can sing the note without the breathiness. But it doesn't get that "bite" until I bring in the cord closure. (e.g., starting with a creaky vocal fry at the onset). I had always thought of that as mix due to the relatively level of effort involved.
In this exercise we are going for more of a pure head voice sound, rather than a mix. I think what you are hearing is the balanced cord closure which provides a clear resonant tone to the high voice, rather than a looser cord closure which would be more of a falsetto coordination and would sound breathy as more air is allowed to pass through the cords. If you wanted to add even more presence and strength to the sound, you could establish a mix coordination by adding more compression to the cords (cry sound), and by adding some pharyngeal (nasal resonance) - think of a Hank Williams style twang, or honking like a goose.
Wow........ He got a great voice toooo..... Good coach.....
That's a COACH! ❤
Excellent 😊 The keeping the larynx more neutral really made a big difference for me. I didn’t realize just how much I was lowering it in an attempt to reach those lower notes. Raising it a bit made everything much more relaxed and easy.
Great to hear. Thank you for sharing!
Brilliantly done. Thanks to you both.
Oh, my gosh !!! What a magnificent voice ! 🙏
What a gorgeous voice !!
❤
the complete video please, very great video, but for rock music its the same ?
Hi, thank you! You can watch the complete coaching video up on our channel now!
@@wolfstudiosnyc Thank so much! so great! your the best
I loooooove this ❤❤❤❤
Do I push the “ee” resonance to my nose or the back of my throat? I’m confused on where to focus head voice resonance. Signing is so confusing!
Best advice would be not to try to push the sound around or manipulate it in any way. Try to sing the exercise in a balanced and natural way, and following the provided demos and guidance. Generally speaking, when produced in a free and natural way, singers can experience subtle head resonance sensations outwardly, on the bridge of the nose and inwardly, on the pharynx (back wall of the throat). But sympathetic vibrations can vary and be unique to an individual singer. You want to begin to notice where you feel the sound, rather than trying to “put” the sound somewhere.
VERY helpful. Thank you so much!
From Kenya,I love this vocal exercise
Thank you for the gratitude!
I do this easily because mu favourite singing was Delores from the cranberries. Singing her song the Irish keaning alanis morissette does it too
Yes! These are both awesome artists and examples to follow.
I'm not understanding how to counteract the larynx going up as I go up in pitch.
Please check out our long form video on how to stabilize your larynx here - kzread.info/dash/bejne/q6uBuK6Bddi_ftY.htmlfeature=shared

🇧🇷
I learned an exercise kind of like this and not sure what it's called or where I learned it. You take your palm of your hand facing you in front of your lips and blow slow and lightly. You blow low and slow while saying ewwwww in a fry like sound and do it until you run out of air 3x. When you go to sing you will immediately be blown away what it does for your vocals. I used to have artist do it every time when they come in to record music. Do you know what I'm talking Kurt or what it's called?
It sounds like an SOVT exercise (semi occluded vocal tract). These can be anything like lip trills, tongue trills, “trumpet” or “blowfish” cheeks, etc. They establish a smooth, even airflow, relaxation in the outer muscles, and they create a healthy back pressure that gives you really efficient vocal cord closure. That’s probably why it helps your singers. It’s warming up the breath and voice properly, in a balanced way.
You have a great voice!!!!! Beautiful voice tone
I love it… informative
Omg I got goosebumps at the end when she was next to the piano singing the last training part. Good coaching I must say! Bravo both of you!
Thank you!
Im here from Raquels instagram. Yassss go queen go!
@17:40 Dude, the harmonic resonance of that high note in the environment sounds insane!
Great teaching from Kurt!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
This was FUN to watch and listen to! She has a lovely head voice!!!!
