I modeled in a back-to-school fashion show at this mall around 1999 and performed a concert there with my middle school band. Fun times when the mall was still thriving.

Hampton demolishing this mall was a huge mistake. The Peninsula Town Center had lots of stores for maybe 2 years, then went downhill fast. The nice stores all closed and nothing interesting has replaced them. They did get some decent new restaurants recently but shopping is still lacking significantly.

i saw many a metal show there, good times. Dio was supposed to play there and I thought it would be a unique, up close show... but they couldn't sell enough tickets and it was canceled. Crazy, but it was the early 90's and grunge had taken over by then.

I have such respect for John, and Justin (who my father and myself have met in fairly random places over the years, due to his local connection to our area). My father introduced me to the Moody Blues when I was a child, they were always playing in the car on tape, and in the house on vinyl, and I loved them - still do. Later in life, after I'd become a parent myself, my father and I travelled several times to see the Moody Blues perform in Plymouth, UK. What an incredible energy. A truly fabulous experience each time, which I cherish. I still regularly listen to them, and an album I fell in love with, by The Blue Jays - some of those songs still move me to tears. Glad to hear you mention "isn't Life Strange" - it's one of those songs which I've shed a tear or two to, over the years. Nights in White Satin is one of my dad's faves. If we speak or meet on a Tuesday, we regularly sing that song to each other lol! Thank you John Lodge, and all of "the Moodies" as dad and I lovingly call them, for your outstanding music and for your huge contribution to making our lives that little bit better every time we hear your music.

My wonderful music teacher, Virginia Taylor, had a gig playing at the restaurant but had a conflict, so she had me fill in with her. Seventeen-year-old me was excited to have the opportunity. The deal was to play an hour of dinner music, then play the Star Spangled Banner to start the game and them the usual change-the-field music. The instrument was a 3-manual Allen organ that was a joy to play. When the time came to play the National Anthem, they told me they would throw a switch and I could only hear what I was playing from the radio broadcast as they switched the speakers to the ones in the park. Unknown to me, the top keyboard (of the three) was not connected to the PA system, but that was the one I chose to play the melody on, so only the accompaniment was heard in the park, not the melody. I was panicked. People and players were puzzled, and Mr. Rosenfeild ran it shouting "What the hell are you playing?" We figured out what had happened, but he paid me and asked me to leave. Anybody remember that game?
