Andrew Sink

Hi! My name is Andrew Sink!

Creating technical and process documentation is something that I really enjoy! This led to the creation of this KZread channel which seeks to push the boundaries of 3D printing, as well as solving common 3D printer related problems.

With over 150 videos and 3,500,000+ views, this channel reflects my own enthusiasm and motivation to solve problems and create new solutions.

    A lot of print failure people are attributing to moisture is actually just old filament losing volatile plasticizers. Heating the filament draws plasticizers out from the core of the filament, but eventually, the filament becomes brittle and useless. But hey, lets make 2000 videos explaining what hydroscopic means. Try this at home kids: dry a new roll of filament >60C for a week, it will print horrible.

    Instead of brushing on the resin, I'm pretty sure a gloss varnish would produce the same results as well as create a nice base layer for your paints, if you decide to paint it.

    Thank you so much for sharing this elegant 3D printer from 2016. I saw someone listed it as used for sale at $500, may I ask is that still worth at this price today in mid 2024? I am really wondering about that as a beginner of 3D printing. Appreciated for your response.

    @SportsEditz1015 this is the chocolate 🍫 🙏 it’s 100% real chocolate and tastes perfectly normal. They just heat it and push it through a heated coil tube, and it’ll print anything you want

    Thanks for this! I noticed on this video and my own testing that the prints are not centered. I tried everything to get them to offset to the X and Y axis short of physically moving the switches and nothing works. Any ideas? You can see in the calibration test that the whole thing is off to the left.

    i think its obvious that it works. the 3d scanning doesnt use ai to look at what on the camera and decide how it is in 3d, it use the same stuff it uses in the face scanning (i forgot the name). its lasers that we cant see with our eyes and i think it (somehow) knows how far the lasers are , and uses that to make it 3d. its why you cant unlock somebodys phone with a picture of them.

    I have a couple questions; 1-do you put glue still down on the plate? 2- how do you apply it once it’s printed on the tulle.

  • @AndrewSink
    @AndrewSinkАй бұрын

    Nope, no glue needed on the bed for this print! You could apply it by stitching to the final piece of fabric? Might be worth some experimentation!
