Hi Jeff. You have a great product here! We recently played it at our Family Reunion. It was a huge hit. I created 13 games, each with 5 rounds. In 2 nights we only completed 5 games. At this rate we'll have content forever! 😊 I ran the screen while a relative hosted on a microphone. Both of us had printed copies of Q & A. I purchase inexpensive buzzers online. They are a "must have". Admittedly, I've spent a few hours entering/printing Q & A, but it's worth it in the long run. Thanks for a creating a very entertaining product. I highly recommend it! PS. We did not play the Fast Money Rounds. They are not needed for great team vs. team competition. Plus FMR's eat up a lot of Q & A (WORK!!!).

Typically, you would just double click on the file and it will open (assuming you have PowerPoint installed). You can also open PowerPoint, go up to "File" and then "Open" and select the file from where it is saved.
Thank you. What kind of certification does someone need to become a full-time corporate trainer?
I don't think you need any specific certification unless a specific job you are looking at requires it. Most people I know fall into it as part of their regular job. But, if interested, I'd check out any offered through ATD (Association for Talent Development).
How many people can play this game at one time? I have 34 people in my session. Can they all play along?
It's really up to you as the host. You could divide them into six teams and then have people from each team rotate in and out. OR, what I will do a lot of times for a class is let them all play together to see how many points they can get. So, I start with a category and question and then, whoever answers earns the points for the class and they get to pick the next category. And I might limit individuals to only 1 or 2 answers so more people can/have to participate.

Also, In my PowerPoint I have a slide with 8 answer options, a slide with 7 answer options...and so on down to 2. Do I just duplicate the slide with 8 answers to make more slides with 8 answer options?
Yes - exactly! Duplicate the slides that have the number of answers you need. Delete any you don't need.
If I delete a few answers to a slide, then in the future I want to add more answers to that slide, how do I add them back into the slide?
I would make sure to save it with a different name and then copy and paste slides in from the original template that have the number of answers you want.

Do you need a degree to become a corporate trainer?
Most job postings I see want some kind of degree but not necessarily a trainer specific degree. My bachelor's degree is in Advertising and that was never an issue when I applied for trainer jobs. They just wanted to see I had a degree.
@yourlearningcareer Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I've heard some say you don't need a degree, but I'm just not sure how realistic that is based on job postings that I see. So basically, in your experience, you've seen first hand that most desire a degree? I've never finished school. I got as far as 42 credits, but at my age, I don't see myself going after a Bachelors degree just to get into a training role...and yet, that's the job I'd prefer. So you see my issue lol
@@TitusLennon What kind of work do you do now? Is there a way you could do training as part of your current role or within your current company? That can be a great way to get experience. And for many places, they want the degree OR x number years of experience so, if you already have a good bit of experience, the degree may not be as big a deal. If you are lacking both a degree and experience, it may take a little longer but I'd focus on the experience. If you can go out and show what you can do, I don't see why a lack of degree would be a deal breaker.
@yourlearningcareer Yeah, not sure that's an ideal path. I sold real estate as a realtor, but I don't really want to be in the real estate industry. Also, real estate is not really corporate or a situation where there will be an abundance of trainer position....as opposed to real estate brokerage simply seeking to recruit agents.

Ok -probably a dumb question but does this version come with questions and answers already built in like some of the others I’ve seen? I like being able to edit but to save time I’m in need of one that already is packed with the Q&As. If not do you have such a version that has all the latest features you describe here?
Not dumb at all! This one does NOT have questions and answers built in. I have a version that does but it's in an older template without macros so it doesn't do the scoring. Is there any special adobe or other suite for Learning Experience design?
Unfortunately, no. Way back when, they used to have an e-learning suite that included Captivate along with a few other apps like Photoshop, Acrobat and Illustrator (if I recall correctly). Now, Captivate is only available on it's own. And then you would have to buy either the individual products you want or get the Creative suite that includes everything EXCEPT Captivate.

Hi! This is probably a stupid question, but is there a way to set up more than one game at a time, like saving one and putting in new questions on the next game, or do I have to play the first game in its entirety, end game, and input the next game's questions/teams?
Hello! You can just do "save as" and save a new copy and then put your new questions in that.

I think you have misunderstood ADDIE. ADDIE is a cycle, the Evaluation phase sends you back for revisions. Working it as a linear model would be pointless.

Excellent points about empathy and listening. I have worked as a lecturer/tutor in adult education (English language and Business subjects) for 16 years and genuinely fed up of hearing teachers/instructors constantly complain about their learners. The blame is put on the learners which excuses the teacher/educator/lecturer/trainer/instructor from making any improvements in how they design/deliver/facilitate their sessions. I just joined an online session on Zoom today (as a participant) where the instructor spent the entire day just reading off really lengthy texts on PowerPoint, with zero interaction with any of us, and he did not even bother to start with an icebreaker or to get to know people's names. As a participant I promptly became distracted and 'zoomed' out (excuse the pun!) after about 5 minutes.

How do you manage the constant change on a course that is 20 weeks long? Is this not about 'scope' and making sure the analysis has rigour? Wouldn't ADDIE be key for a medium to long term project - get the analysis right, and use SAM for small changes once up and running? Its all the same thing to me - just more complicated in SAM, managing the constant change against the requirement and assurance of it all.
I've been a technical trainer for over 20 years and one thing I have found is that engineers typically are not very good technical trainers. While they know the product or software inside and out, they don't know how to talk to "normal" people- and I say that with all the love in my heart. Regardless of the type of trainer you are, you must be able to relate the information to all levels of knowledge and learning styles. If you cannot "dumb down" information to teach someone, then you don't know the information.

How to be successful as a corporate trainer. Step 1: be white. You’ll get hired anywhere immediately into learning and development. Step 2: don’t be brown or black because then you have to eat 6 or 7 more years worth of 💩 on the phones or some other entry level shit before a training team hires you out of desperation. Oh… but you can be an adjunct trainer and not get paid for it though.. and then lose out the job to a white employee with zero experience.

What would be the difference in going with Camtasia VS Snagit ? Do you need both ? I'm looking to just make Step by step tutorial training videos for New employees to explain and show how to use certain software, ....... on desktop And in mobile phones.
If you are making videos, then I'd go with Camtasia since that is a full featured video editing software. It's really great for software demos - very easy to do screen recordings and edit. You don't need both but it's nice to have both and there is usually a pretty good package deal going on.

Thank you for this. I am a graphic design intern at an ngo here in Nairobi, Kenya and part of my job is to create infographics for the courses developed and being a person who has not yet done that I have limited time to learn, so my supervisor suggested ispring. I got to learning and I am running with it. I have also tried storyline and its true, its more of like ispring. Now having prior knowledge & experience with Adobe softwares, captivate is also easy for me to learn but time is of the essence to me. So figured let me start and concentrate with isring, then later I can diversify. Thanks again for this video

It has a Final Jeopardy style of round but not a round 2.

Yes! You can save it onto the flash drive and then transfer to your lap top. I recommend saving it to the laptop and playing from there.
Hi, Can we add more rounds? Say we want to have 15 rounds instead of 10?
With the scoring/macro one, it is limited to 10 rounds but with the non-scoring version of this template that comes with it, yes, you can add however many you want. I will be releasing an update very soon to the scoring version of this one that will allow the addition of more rounds. Stay tuned!
