this is one vintage jell-o ad they could easily air today
It’s wild that now if someone pays with anything other than card it slows the line down, while back in the day, if you saw a card come out instead of cash or a check it was like “Oh, boy…”
Alka seltzer oh what a relief it is
Wow, the memories!!!! This commercial has lived in my head for sooo long, I'm glad I found it!!!
The human eyes make it 10 times more uncanny
I grew up with a FedMart in our neighborhood. 20 years later we are cleaning out my parents house and the game was to find a Fedmart branded item. We succeeded in finding a D cell battery in a flashlight... Fond Memories, except for getting my hair cut at the tiny sub-let barber shop that Dallas Fed Mart had....
I used to work for Cal Worthington Dodge in Huntington Beach years ago and had the opportunity to meet him when i was chosen drive with him , to go pick up his car. Every year for Christmas he threw a big Christmas party for all the employee's and gave you a big turkey to bake. On Thanks Giving he made sure all his employee's had a fat turkey. I regret the fact that i found out later he was a big war hero , and accomplished some incredible things. I just wished i knew all that when we drove together , it would of been a conversation of appreciation.
In fact, in real life, O’Connor’s politics were so liberal that Archie would have treated him worse than the way he (Archie) treated Mike
Yes-In fact, Archie’s sole goal was for real-life bigots to hear how ridiculous they sound
Steven, and Connie examined cocaine 7:30 tomorrow.😂
This literally scales Mr Clean to star level jesus
"Oh Mr Graaaaant, perhaps you'd like your stories on supermarket grade wonder bread instead of pushing cold hard facts!"
We went to see Cal in spring of 1981 looking for a car. He had an awesome 4th gen Lincoln Continental that was in budget, but my mom’s car friend wouldn’t let me buy it because it was already 15 years old. I still think we missed out on an awesome car. Instead we ended up with a 1979 Ford LTD II from a local mom and pop lot. It was an awesome car too, but it wasn’t anywhere near as cool as that Lincoln.
‘78 Chevy Caprice for $3k in 1979. That’s practically 3 weeks salary in 2024. What a tip off from 40 years ago.
Damn, $500?? Heck, my house came with a built in above oven microwave.
Something reminded me of this commercial, and I thought to myself, It has to be on KZread.
What's up with those gigantic license plates??
I lived in Upland, Ca in the 70's and I remember his commercials. Didn't he have a dog named "Spot"?.. Brings back good memories.
I like his commercials,
Cal Worthington, a southern California Saturday morning staple growing up as a kid..
That was some high ass prices back then🤣
The Malaise Era
Year: 1979🗓️
Women were real women and ladies in those days.... notice the flower?
RIP CRAIG MACK!!!
Little known fact: his middle name was Claude.
"I was married to Marilyn Monroe and all I got was a lousy cup of coffee!"
Spread 'em Suzy!
His accent was turned up just a bit for the Southern California buyers.
When you could still buy a car, not a pickup or SUV.
The OPEC oil crisis was at the end of 1973 so 5 years later and not one economy option here. This is when the Japanese got a foothold
Were Gloves not used for food prep back then?
If only we had stuck with glass….
My father had one of those Ford LTD 2’s with a 302 in it, it sure was a nice car and not overly big.
My dad too, traded in his '77 mustang ii for the family sized ltd ii back in '83. Good air conditioning in it.
I despise that lead-lined box!
