You should tweak your car setup on the practice/qualify the more loose you can handle the car can get you an extra few spots. They also have setups for each track online if you wanna metagame it

Bristol and Martinsville on Thunder 04. It don't matter how fast of a car you run or how good your strategy is. The men of Ward Burton Christian Fittipaldi and Bill Elliott will determine if you will succeed here or not. As you saw, it's a glitch that the game thinks it's worthy of a yellow when they pit. It doesn't happen all the time however.
