  Are there ways of cooling down this camper van, would it work to have an awning or part of a day tent over the front so that you can still see out of the windows. Are the windows on this tinted. Can you rig an old military tarp over the main part of the van, I suppose with solar panels it would take some fiddling, would 2 separate tarps do it, 1 each side of solar panel, but does all the fiddling and purchase of tarps actually help.

  I presume Antony has a long back history of paperwork, good service on time, no signs of problems. Love the little cooker, & like the height of driving seat easy slide into, some seem to be the same height as a car. @ 20,000 miles is low, 2 àir bags central locking from bed.

  I recently sold my Topaz for a Gatcombe, phoned insurance company to change over details. Found out a few months later that the Gatcombe wasn’t actually insured as company said they don’t insure Motorhomes and they cancelled the insurance. I thought they would know the difference using the registration details but they said the Gatcombe should have been declared as “modified “. Thankfully I didn’t have to make a claim as they probably wouldn’t have paid out even though the Gatcombe V5 says it’s a motor caravan !

  Is having a shower inbuilt a big deal? Camped for years and just used the campsites showers. Never had a campervan so just wondered why you wish you had one? Obviously it would be nice.

  @@edtaylor7469 I tend not to use campsites and just go wherever I want in the countryside. The shower is mainly used after hiking and can be used outside to clean the boots too. Depends what you are going to use your van for. Having the shower gives you the option though.

  @@vamboroolz1612 yes handy for muddy boots/dogs/children. Great for wild camping. Could do with a LWB 4 berth with 4 traveling seats with a shower. Not easy

  I didn't know about the U Turn on 3.9kg Calor. I got rid of mine for the larger 6Kg which just fit into the locker on my old Boxer harmony. What a pain Calor are!

  Harder to tell from a VT, but she does seem to be a very nice, traditional, unmolested example from the RR of motorhomes. Price slightly above possibly, but could very well be a Top van.

PS I had one of these brand new in 1992 bought from Stewart Moulands in Sussex cost then was £20,000.00 A brilliant campervan and I did make an upper bed board where our 2 girls slept aged 6 and 2 it also had a top loading fridge next to the wardrobe Richard Holdsworth sadly lost the business due to acancelled minibus order and the business was taken over by Cockburn Holdsworth who only lasted about 3 years atb Mike

  I had water coming in what appeared to be the windscreen on my 98 Harmony. I had the screen replaced and it still leaked. Turned out it was leaking in behind the gutterings on the front. The gutterings are bonded on to the roof on via wooden battens and a couple of wood screws. Over time, the water gets in down the screw threads and rots the wood and rusts the metal. I cut mine off with a multi-tool saw, repaired the holes and rust and stuck them back on with Upol Tiger Seal. Never leaked since. Windscreen was an expense mistake.

  I own a wagon r for about 20 years and I can assure you that it is the most reliable car! It is actually a tool on wheels and it can get you litteraly everywhere. I wish I had more time and money to unlock its potentials!
