Donna Kato - A Life In Polymer Clay

Donna Kato - A Life In Polymer Clay

All about polymer clay!

I signed up in 2010…for 12 years my channel sat, silent, empty. Along came Covid and the decision to try to build my channel and share what I know about polymer clay with anyone interested.

Special thanks to Leslie Blackford for teaching me how to upload and for being my very good friend - a bestie.

Hope you enjoy! If you do, please subscribe, like, sign up for notifications and maybe even Join the Classroom!

Hello Miss Donna. Thank you for all of your amazing tutorials! I am new and learning SO SO SO much! ❤ At the beginning when you show the many beautiful flowers you reference a “French lavender cane” and that flower is gorgeous!! 🤩 I’m unable to find the tutorial though. Could you please link it so that I might learn how to make it? Also, the metal flower centers, what are they and where can we purchase? Again, Many thanks for all of your time and teachings.

I have been reading through some of the old clay magazines that I found online, I was amazed at how far back clay art has been around. I love these beautiful canes. Donna you are a fabulous teacher.

Those would look cute as tie backs on curtains if they coordinate with those colors. They could be used other than jewelry.

I just happened to come across this channel and just noticed your last name, wow, I have been using this clay for a while and love it, it’s great to see the Artist who created this lovely line of clay. I appreciate that there isn’t an endless amount of steps to create these beads, they turned out fantastic can’t wait to make some. Thank you for sharing your skills with us and created a wonderful clay.

Hi! It's an Atlas 150 pasta machine! If you're just starting and don't know if you want to pursue polymer clay, I'd recommend getting an inexpensive machine from Michaels on sale. If you do pursue pc, you'll want a better machine like the Atlas. Hugs, D

I usually just make a flat clay bead on one end with a hole in the clay that goes partially through and insert a magnet ,and make the channel for the cord from the other end of the necklace to lay in... then attach an opposite magnet on the cord at the other end of the necklace. It remains flat and the magnetic " clasp" is hidden.
