  can i buy the day pass once I get on the bus or do i have to buy it at the station?

  Hi, you can buy a one-day pass for bus when entering the bus, but you need to use the contactless card 'Suica' or 'Pasmo' (or their smartphone app). The one-day pass data is then registered on the card, so you just use it normally from the 2nd time you get on the bus on that day.

  @@darrellq6954 You can have only one suica registered on your phone. If you are coming to Japan temporarily, I suggest you simply purchase 4 physical suica cards at the airport, as you can easily charge them at train stations and use also at many supermarkets or restaurants.
