I love fabric but who would I look for to print my designs so I make a profit and not have to sell the fabric on their site? Thank you.

Oh...I do have a question. Currently I sell metalsmith jewelry at a market. There is nothing listed on my Etsy. I only ever list by request. I notice that in the few days after I do markets, lots of customers visit my website (nothing to buy) and my Etsy page, as I have a big link. I know they want to buy more stuff. I think my real and best customers already purchased in person and would do so again online, as most sales are to tourists and gifts. My plan now, to diversify; hand them a postcard, it would either have an Etsy coupon code, or tells them to sign-up for my mailing and get a coupon code. Which do you think is better? My question is more about Etsy pricing. I want to run and have influence on my sales with this mailing list of real customers. In order to entice people to buy, I want to offer a discount. I will tell the customer that they can get my booth/in person price on Etsy with this discount. After some figuring, I want to have 2 discounts, a 10% and 20% . What's your take on this? To let you know, I do not sell anywhere at "true" retail pricing. Even with marking the work up on Etsy, it will be below gallery pricing (2.2 x wholesale price). I came up with a plan to get some parts laser-cut from brass so that the work is not so much about original pieces but perennial listings. I believe my little gold-mine is in my loyal customers, I sell earrings, I have new every week, I have huge amount of new stuff per year. They could just be lazy and wait for the 20% discount and get it on Etsy for about 2-3 bucks above my booth price. I am fine with this. What do you think of these percentages, does this make sense, is this a strategy? I am not into social media. I labor alone, I like to be making and designing stuff for most of my day. My plan is to follow all your advice, set up a shop, get it going, then as a reward, maybe I feel I qualify to be in your program. Much thanks for all you do. Holly

I am a bit confused about why you are duplicating the product again, even after fixing the SEO?

  • @vinnart

They are failing because of places like Temu that the American shop owner cannot compete with in an OVER inflated economy. Example; I must charge $50 for a tapestry based on my cost to make any profit to stay in business. At Temu one can get a tapestry that is $5 that is larger with free shipping. This is way below what I pay wholesale for the product. Their prices are INSANLY low because of slave labor, and no or low tariffs on their goods. Etsy CEO even came out and said same thing which is why their stock is tanking, and many like myself who used to make a decent side gig or living are making 25% of what they used to thanks to Biden's inflation and foreign economic polices. Things changed in past few years. Was making 75% more sales under Trump when this wasn't happening. Even Etsy is letting in these cheap shops from China that were not there couple years ago. Facts are facts.

I can't connecting the dots.....let's say you selling pets products on Etsy and be active with an FB business page, that means give those specific niche down pet owners (related groups be a member and do commenting ) give good comments and tips, with time (2,3,4 months...) your comments and tips and your business page will spread out more, then they like your business page and tips and will go to your Etsy shop ?... Would that be the right FB strategy for Etsy sellers? Thank you for oyu good information video 👍

I started working on my Etsy shop in February and was consistent the whole month, got my first sale one week after starting but after a little mistake I was suspended. I got my shop back 3 months later and started working on it again but it’s really hard to drive traffic for me, I’m trying out Etsy ads and have gotten a sale a few days ago but still I don’t really have the traffic I’d like. Also in the video you mentioned that having just white background mockups is not good and I agree but I can’t find any free good quality mockups for my shop. I’ve been watching your videos and they’re very interesting and helpful so any more advice would be great. My shop name is FallenStarCases Thank you!

I do recommend hiring someone if you have enough revenue/profit. I have over 2000 transactions per year and don't know anything about accounting. I hired a person who specializes in Etsy and other online businesses - "Small Business Sarah", whom I found online. She keeps my Quickbooks account up to date, sends me the Profit & Loss statements every month, and produces my annual P&L, which I then submit to my accountant at the end of the year. Totally worth it, as I would be pulling my hair out if I had to do it myself.
