Thank you very much for this video. Great explanation. There are currently a lot of supposedly "Buddhist" illustrations of AI available, which contain a lot of mistakes, mistakes that unfortunately many people do not notice. They are satisfied with the first, apparently attractive impression. Unfortunately for me, I notice them and because of this, I sometimes try to explain it, but I am met with a rather reluctant reception for such an action (maybe I don't know how to communicate it in an appropriately gentle, skillful way even though I try). I respect very much traditional buddhist art as words of Dhamma and my intention are clear, it´s nothing more. I try to explaine, but it look´s like it's difficult, especially for the younger generation, to accept criticism. The topic discussed evokes strong emotions, for some reason people take it personally, even though they are not the creators of these illustrations. A year has passed since you uploud this film, unfortunately the crisis of Buddhist art has continued since then. I think this is the right name - crisis of Buddhist art. But well, nothing is permanent. Is this what we observe in the case of visual communication? Changing- for sure. Is it flaw - clinging to traditional images? True- it´s attachment. Is it "just" matter or Dhamma in a visual form? What is a traditional visual message? Are they "just" pictures or maybe meditative content, recontemplationed by past generations of wise and dedicated practitioners? I think it's the second one and unfortunately the continuity of this amazing wisdom encoded in images, visual messages is currently under threat, is threatened by the ubiquity, ease, accessibility and (apparent) attractiveness of AI illustrations... The individual ego is winning - everyone can now generate their own pictures of the Buddha, share them (and... collect "likes"). And people are delighted. I think that ilustrations are also like Dhamma teachings and it is inappropriate to use generated images for this, because they are created based on stereotypes about Buddhism functioning in the virtual world, and are not based directly on Dhamma teachings (nor are they supported by tradition wchich was created on the way based on Dhamma, Suttas). Ethical ambiguities and copyright problems are also important aspects. Even if these illustrations are free, isn't it from buddhistic perspective theft if tech companies used the illustrations without considering the rights of the creators? Even though such illustrations are ultimately free, given these doubts regarding copyright, are they actually GIVEN to us by the recipient? Thank´s again a lots for this great video 🙏.
