Travel Videos - Travel Vlog - Flight Experiences - Train Journeys - Travel Adventures!
Welcome to my KZread Channel! A channel where I post weekly travel videos. I have a great backlog of videos from many of the 84 countries I have traveled to as a backpacker or as a more mid-range traveler - from Central Asia to West Africa, South America and more! I love rail journeys and feature a number of those too.
In 2023 I am taking to air and to the road - and to the rails, as I take you along as I attempt to travel from Dhaka in Bangladesh to Dakar in Senegal, West Africa, over 11,000km as the crow flies, but many more in the route I will take. Hopefully I will get out two videos per week (or maybe more) so join me through over 15 countries, many borders, as I experience South Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa in 2023!

Nice watching the video
Please go back to nowa nowa and visit the abandoned kindergarten and the abandoned school please 🙏
Cricket is definitely not popular in America but this looks like our stadiums for the other major league sports! It's incredible.
It is always so interesting to visit old building and see the history - and the vault was so neat!
Im trying to cross this boarder myself soon. How much money did you pay for the boat ?
Hi there and thanks for watching. I paid 5000cfa for the boat and they wouldnt move and I didn't really have a choice. Not sure if things are different nowadays or if the bridge is open. Be aware crossing there you CAN be exposed to scammers and touts, i think I was super lucky
Thanks for the review, will be flying the same leg in a few months :) It looks like the seat you checked specifically doesn’t recline cause the exit aisle is right behind it, the normal seats probably do..?
sorry to say but no, they dont none of the seats recline sadly. but at least it means you dont get people squashing you from in front of you. Thanks for watching!
Oh my God it's Adrian, my friend's good mate !!
that's him! Thanks for watching!
Saudi Arabi is easier to visit than I thought. I'm ambivalent about visiting though due to human rights issues. Saudia will have a problem matching the Gulf carriers because it is a dry airline. Very informative video.
that's a fair concern. I originally had a bit about those concerns in the video but didn't want the video to be political in any way so didn't put it in in the end. Thanks for watching John!
Yey
thanks!
Tryy NGV!!
thanks for watching! I did do a video on the NGV a couple of years back now!
Thanks for keeping that history alive.
thanks for watching and the support!
Wow, in the singing voice of Disney's Princess Jasmine from Aladdin, a whole new world! So interesting and the place is huge. Nice tour.
cheers thanks for watching!

Thanks and thanks for watching 🙂
My family (The Saviges) renovated this Hotel Motel back in the late 1970's. Those motel rooms are quite large now. They used to be half the size, we removed the dividing wall and turned 20 box sized rooms into 10 large rooms that are there now, with that arch in the middle being the original back wall on each old room. The "Tower" was a water tank stand before town water was connected. I used to have to climb that vertical ladder to fix water supply problems when the float played up in the tank... we pumped water from Boggy Creek in the gorge to a holding tank on the hill above the next-door house, from where it gravity fed to the tank on top of that tower above the hotel. My Mum "Flo" constructed the original gardens out front of the hotel. We put in a large swimming pool on the east side of the motel rooms, which has obviously been removed. We were very lucky the place didn't burn down twice while we were there, due to bush fires. I took photo's of the smoke from fires one year, those photo's may still be on the bar wall, I don't know. My Dad caught some 4lb Bream and Luderick which were stuffed and displayed in the bar, they may or may not still be there 50 years later. Trains still ran from Orbost to Bairnsdale daily back then. The lake meanders through the valley down to Lake Tyers village 13 miles away at the Ocean. The BEST bream and flathead fishing in Gippsland (except for Mallacoota). Duck shooting season you would hear spent shot falling on the roof from shooters down on the lake. I've got photos of snow on the gardens and front car park one year. Thanks for reviving old memories mate.
Wow! Thanks not just for watching but for sharing some of the history of the place. Really appreciate it and it goes to show just how much work goes into running these sort of places!
I might add that there is nothing spooky about Nowa Nowa at all. It was a 3 mill timber town in my day, half the workers were locals and the rest came from nearby area's to work in those 3 mills. Very hard, dangerous and back-breaking work. the people who lived in local towns like Nowa Nowa were the salt of the earth; people no different to those who built and developed little communities and towns all over Australia. Sadly the timber mills, mines, fishing industries etc that these small remote communities were built around are being made obsolete, and all that remains is a dilapidated pub here, maybe little caravan park there, a single bowser petrol station up in the hills (if you're lucky), that closes down at 8pm. In your grey nomad journey around Australia, take the time to go down the road least traveled, the road to nowhere and you will find absolute gems.
The facility is so big! I have never seen cricket before but I bet it is fun to watch.
Some would disagree with that assessment. Not me though!!! Thanks for watching!!
We don't want to see your face 👎
That is a huge stadium!!! I still need to learn the rules of cricket. I honestly have no idea about how the scoring works. Do they have concerts or anything else there or is it just used for cricket. Also when is the season for cricket?
yes as I said just a few weeks before filming this one Taylor Swift filled the place with 96,000 ! Thanks for watching!
Egypt will replace and renovation all the old train cars . Also there is talgo train from cairo to aswan u can ride it next time .
yes pity i missed the Talgo - but I wanted to travel at day time so it all worked out! love my rail transport! Thanks for watching!
I can probably survive such a flight by upgrading to an exit row seat and buying 2 meals. Back in the day, we didnt hve ife's nor on board wifi too
yeah i should have remembered to order a meal! Still noodles is better than nothing! Thanks for watching!
I'm not into sports or know anything about cricket, but this looks like a really cool experience! Thanks for sharing! 😄
Thanks for watching!
A great place for acting goofy.😄
Without a doubt thanks for watching ☺️
This looks like a great tour! I actually have never seen a game of cricket played before (on tv or in person) but it looks like it would be a great experience in a place like this. That stadium is massive as well! Another thing to add to my list if I ever get to Melbourne.
not just cricket! Footy and concerts too! Thanks for your support!
MCG is amazing. Its our wish to visit there someday and watch live match. Malborne has so much to offer and worth visiting for. Thanks for sharing the tour and motivate us more to visit there.
We're waiting for your visit!!! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your review, am taking the same flight from Sydney tomorrow, my first time to Manila too ❤
Good luck hopefully it won't be a full flight which is what made my one pretty decent I suspect. Just bring your own entertainment it's.a long eight hours!
Andy we know nothing about cricket but this stadium looks huge. The tour is interesting you get to see behind the scenes too. Those long jumps whatttt that's unbelievable. The library looked fascinating I bet you enjoyed this tour.
Thanks for watching. It was definitely a worthwhile tour and I would think impressive for anyone regardless of their interest in sport. Take care xxx
I worked in Pentridge when I was an apprentice electrician back in 1977. The company I worked for was contracted to do some work in there. We mainly worked in A division but also in H division. In A division we were amongst the prisoners but no chance whatsoever in H division. We never even got to see a prisoner as we were only allowed in after they were taken to the yards. Jika Jika became the new high security section. I didn’t realise that A division and H division were actually the same building that had a wall installed to separate them. Only found out after it closed and I did a tour.
Yeah the tour has a lot of details it was well done. Thanks for commenting and sharing your experiences much appreciated 👍
Nice that you don't have to pay for the trams. A free museum as well? I always appreciate a historical building. I'm currently reading a book about the gold rush in California. When was Australias Gold Rush? Beautiful city center. A fascinating history Melbourne has. Good choice of music.
cheers. Gold rush in Victoria (cant say for other parts of Australia but Victoria was the biggest and most significant) was around the 1850s. Ballarat (one day will do a vlog) was the centre, today around 90 mins drive from Melbourne. But Gold was big in other regional centres such as Bendigo. It drove immigration obviously and free settlers (there was no convict colony I don't think in Victoria at all).
The record attendance for a sporting event at the MCG is 121,696 for the 1970 VFL Grand final.
Thanks for that and thanks for watching ! :)
You found somebody! Great cruise, lots of laughs and lovely scenery of the Yarra river
Haha well I suppose technically it's a 'cruise' but not sure he'd come on a two week cruise lol thanks for commenting ☺️
I will definitely be using the dilly dally Sally saying to my husband. He's such a dilly dally-er! Gold rush history is always so interesting to me and that was a massive nugget of gold 😮 wow. Seems like an interesting museum to check out there!
And I didn't even know about it until recently!!! Thanks for watching!!!!
what a beautiful day exploring - you two have a create rapport!
Tim's an awesome guy with his own channel, blog and more. Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it!
This is massive! For reference, the largest stadium in Jamaica only seats 30,000 but I guess with our population of just under 3 million people, we don't neee anything larger, ha! Thanks for sharing Andy!
if i ever get there (hope springs eternal) I really want to take in a cricket game in Caribbean the stadiums I see at the T20 World Cup were mostly built for the 2007 50 Over World Cup and not as atmospheric as the ones from yesteryear but still would love to take in the atmosphere. I remember getting up early for school in 1991 I think it was to watch Australia get thumped by the West Indies with Patrick Patterson, Ambrose and Marshall coming in at a million miles an hour. Those were the days the grounds appeared on TV like caldrons without a spare space to stand or sit! thanks for watching!
Really pretty area with that classic architecture. No dilly dally Sally. Who doesn't enjoy a FREE gem with all that history. Nice tour.
I'm not sure why suddenly I am using that phrase, the videos I've been editing lately I say it too. Thanks for your support Cynthia!
How long are you in Melbourne for man? Would love to chat about your experiences in west Africa!
Haha I LIVE in Melbourne. Wish I could travel more! Thanks for watching!
Looks like an interesting Historical Museum Andy and even better when it's free. That nugget of gold wow. The building itself is nice too. Happy you visited for the first time Andy. Well done
the nugget is a replica you know! Thanks as always for your support K & G and CONGRATS!
What amazing city views!! Thanks for sharing! 😄
thanks for watching!
The museum has so much history and details of ancient architecture. They maintained the museum so well. It reminds me of Faisal Bin Qasim museum here in Qatar
It's definitely a good one Thanks for watching!! 🐱
8 hours on a Qantas flight: okay I'll take it. 8 hours on a budget airline: you are so brave.
luckily it wasn't bad at all. Just a bit boring at times. if it was full it would have been a different story altogether. thanks for watching!
What a neat old treasury with so much history. I love free and interesting museums.
Cheers thanks for watching 🤠
😂 you guys are a crack up duo. 😂 Those girls whooing as they went by. Beautiful riverside to the city. Seems like a great place to spend a morning or afternoon getting a nice walk in. You said rear entry one too many times there. Lovely cruise. You get a great sense of the cityscape from the cruise.
Rear entry. Thanks for watching!
Do they have shuttle service
not that I know of it's across a bridge from the airport. thanks for watching.
I love Andy
Cheers where you been???
Andy love your work!
Much appreciated 👍
What a fun little river boat ride. The bridges were low!! You guys looked like you had a lot of fun.
We always do.... Had to cut out so much!!!! Have to keep the PG rating lol 😆
You two crack me up having a little dance party at the back of the boat. Some of those bridges were SO low! A nice way to see the city though - great scenery from the river. And seems like you had a beautiful day for it.
We did have a great day for sure! Lots of fun in the sun!!! 😎 Thanks for watching!!
Love the content and I’ve been to the old treasury before yet haven’t had the opportunity to see the gold vault when I was there I very much intend to go see them
Cheers thanks for the support it's a great little free part of Melbourne to check out!!
Wait - you don't have to pay for trams?? That's awesome
Only in the CBD but yeah there's a free zone for trams which is cool. Thanks for watching!!!
