Back in 1995 (me 22 at the time) after all grunge stuff this was a revelation! Thrash metal had vanished and then this came out. Just saw the band live two days ago and they were simply amazing!

The first time I ever heard this song I replayed and listened to the breakdown part from 10:26 - 11:49 about a bazillion times, that one part really is something special to me, and forever cemented periphery for me as one of my favorite bands of all time.

That solo is insane. Because it lacks traditional melody I don’t know how I would ever wrap my head around it enough to master it. Masterfully done sir

When you do the fast tapping part in the solo (2:14), how do you keep the other strings from ringing out and muddying the tone? When I try recording that part in a DAW it doesn't sound as clean even though it sounds fine through an amp.
