This channel features a whole bunch of videos of the myriad of games I play; from space-simulation to first person shooters, from role playing games to (tactical) strategy games, it's all there :-)
These are not commented in any way ("A picture is worth a thousand words"); also because I often find it quite unnerving having to listen to some lame-ass Lets Player... better to just enjoy the game for what it is!
Anyway, I hope you have fun watching!

umm Libya never tried it
tbh, it's not that much different; gameplay is always the same
I use to play this ..wow LHX, thank ytlder😃
Yep, me too. Unfortunately, I just didn't... get back into it. It wasn't as fun to play as I remember^^
Do you remember having any issues with the friendly units not quite killing all the infantry in the target area in this mission? I keep not succeeding because there's like 1 dude left the friendly armor is never gonna kill and i sure as hell can't spot him.
Heya. No, I don't really remember anything like that, but at the same time, I'm not surprised too. Missions get buggy as hell after a few updates. I mean, even EDs own campaigns get stuck for a long time! Like M18 of their Su-27 campaign: forum.dcs.world/topic/310961-mission-18-under-cloud-of-night-never-tells-me-to-rtb Problem reported in Oct. '22, fixed in July '24 That's... pretty wild. Add to that, that most private made missions/campaigns never see any update, I've made it a point to "repair and change user-file missions" whenever I feel the need for it. I'd do that for official campaigns too, alas those are encrypted and can't be changed. tldr: missions might stop working after some DCS updates and you'll probably left fixing them on your own Cheers!
@@ytdlder funny you should mention that Su-27 campaign as that's actually my bug report. Small world. I appreciate you helping out with that one. For this mission, the trigger for success is that all the enemies are out of the target zone. That's a little risky when there's infantry behind buildings that the friendlies never see and the player probably can't spot either. I'll suggest to the campaign creator a different approach for flagging success and hope he's willing to make an update. I'm recording playthroughs of newbie-friendly content with tips on strategies that worked for me, since that is the sort of stuff I wanted to see but couldn't find much of when I started DCS. This campaign looks like a good candidate but not if achieving success reasonably is kinda finicky. Thanks for your help!
@@funky-sim Ha ha, no friggin way dude, that's awesome. So, I guess I preached to the choir then^^ Cheers and fly safe!

How do i unlock it ive completed all missions 😂🎉
Well, it is used in a mission! (I'm pretty sure about that^^) But I can't remember if it's a main one, or only a side-mission 😕 So you probably already swam through it...
Nice
It's a cool Resident Evil clone!
Gange
Is that slang for something? I don't get it
cant spot anything in vr after the update
Really? Did you en-/disable the option? I have to admit: I've only played some Su-25T missions, so I haven't checked if this is also broken (like QuadViews)
While talking about this unfortunate update: did you loose any input settings or did anything change, like axis config or something? It didn't for me - as far as I can tell - but I've read one or two times of where it happened.
Thanks
np!
How would you compare this to Fleet Defender?
Unfortunately, I haven't played that. Yet. It's "on the list" though^^ Tbh, can't wait to get into more modern ones. But as it stands now, it's the best (old) flight-sim I've played! Really fun and the radar work (AA and AG) adds a cool simulation layer!
Have yet to get the RAH-66 as I keep getting killed on the missions.
Keep at it; getting the hang of a new game is half the fun^^ (even though it can be quite a frustrating at times)
Just got through this. Even in “Training” setting it can be tough as hell.
oh yeah; especially if you aren't used to flying helicopters; when I get to DCS's Black Shark, I'll need to remove some springs on my joystick so it works more like the real deal.
@@ytdlderI’d say even if you put settings on easy you’ll still get waxed badly.
@@raymondyee2008 True; but imho LHX is a bit tougher, because you just get swamped by helos and jets sometimes. You can also sometimes fly right up to AAA and sometimes they shoot at you and you don't even have them on radar / RWR...

yeah, sounds like something that would happen in this game... Russian quality control^^
Hey man, is this a straight foward installation or do i need other stuff for get to work? Can you make a video showing us how to install? Thanks!
This uses the "Reloaded Loader", a tool written by the Russian community and it just needs the installed/unpacked EF2000 files and works out-of-the-box 🙂

Since it looks like Razbam won't be finishing the DCS F-15SE?
HA, yep, with that maybe this will still be the best F-15E sim to play even in 2024 :D
@@ytdlder it will certainly the most complete one!
@@ytdlder Wouldn't that be the Janes F-15 then ?
@@GreyZone7 That's probably true... as it's not in the title, I wasn't sure if it's the C or E model. But: I also haven't played it yet, so I can't say anything about this game.
I do also remember that drone being all over the place and hard to track
yeah, it's a sneaky fucker^^
One of the best Jetsims ever. Still playing this with much fun! Also Total Air War 2.0 by DID.
Absolutely! Those two DiD sims have been the best 2 flight sims I ever played, no questions. But I also haven't played Jane's yet; it's on my list, but for now, I'm still in '92 in that regard^^ It's gonna take a while until I'll get around to the more modern sims.
@@ytdlder Jane's USNF, ATF or Fighters Anthology (and later USAF with tacleberry's patch, looks great) are also great, still playing this, but EF 2000 and Total Air War had better graphics and much more complexity. This two games are the best of all old flightsims for all time, I'm sure.
@@GregCrack Interesting... I though Jane's would be more complex then EF2000...
8:49 Hello coast guard, I would like to report a Sailing Under The Influence.
LOL, yeah, something like that^^
Can you please send a link to download the game?
Sorry, but I don't have a link for it. I still had (and have) the CDs.
can you make a tutorial video on how to setup vr settings?
Hm, I'll think about it. I mean, I got a doc. with all the settings, but getting that into a more-or-less coherent video will be challenging^^
Sorry it took so long; tried making a video but fucked up the voice recording... in the meantime, here's my doc covering probably everything: docs.google.com/document/d/1oNRWJ-6PV-gyM4OF1mS8LDDPLZZiiqxK
I played the crap out of this game but never beat it. Maybe it's just me but I could fly very low like 50 ft in the air and use the non locking rockets just to have more ammo. I don't think I would use the very heavy missiles other than for ships.
There is one problem though: back in the day PCs were slow, and thus, the games were slow. As pretty much all games were programmed time based. That flaw became out of practice as computers got faster, but back then, you could literally hit the turbo button on your PC and play a game in fast (or at all if it was more demanding^^). That's to say that it's not like playing the game on old hardware and nowadays a bit tougher because of it. (though, not this game specifically)
Yes I loved this game back in the day. I had a friend that had the CD version of this but I never got a chance to play it just the 3.5 one.
What do you mean with "3.5 one"?
Great video ❤🤟
Thanks! I do hope to play the classics besides DCS 🙂
Clive Owen and the rest of the cast made this such an immersive game to play... was excellent.
Totally! (good) live actors were the reason, these FMV cut-scenes were so good. Shame that went away, but understandable, considering the costs.
this game was probably written in assembly...
Don't know, but at least the engine always was. John Carmack (Doom) used assembler for the engine even when nobody else anylonger did.
@@ytdlder I don't think that's true. Perhaps there was some inline assembly in Doom, but Doom itself was still majority written in C.
does this game work on newer windows?
Yep, played it this year. In Win11. Just needs Dosbox, but it's included everywhere it can be downloaded.
That cannot be right. I clearly remember this game had hyper realistic graphics ))))))))))))
Yeah, don't I know that story... every "retro" game I played as a teen is quite a shock to play again.
Ah, brings me back!
tbh, I never played that game, only LHX (but maybe I'll play that again too^^)
@@ytdlder I'd love to play this game, and M1, and Yeager's Flight Simulator, and more, but I can't handle the audio now. And I can't handle the frame rates either. Even worse, the new, amazing simulators are way too complex for me... I just want a casual experience that looks great.
@@Nangleator22 Amen to that; don't get me wrong, I LOVE DCS, but for know I'm still playing campaigns for the low-fidelity FC3 planes, and thus haven't begun the study-sim planes (except the P-51 Mustang, but that's an easier WW2 bird). Meaning: I've always been on the "SimLight" path. EF2000, EarthSiege, Armored Fist are my thing. Arcade like F-22 Lightning II are cool and fun for the quick action, but aren't really griping. Study Sims like Falcon 4.0 on the other hand need way too much sophistication to be appreciated. It'll be interesting to see, if I can make the transition to the high-fidelity planes in DCS, or if they'll be "too much work". At least with the easier planes I "know the game". Like how does everything work, how the AI handles stuff, the keybinds, the flying and navigation and so on.
First one here
lol, yeah, this wasn't a very popular game, nor is it a very good one. But it does have an interesting setting and style.

I just got DCS. I’m learning the Mustang. I was struggling on this mission so I decided to check KZread for some tutorials. Found this video. I see I’m not alone. Haha. Also, that was an awesome landing. Barely cleared the fence back home.
I didn't think so beforehand, but I love the Mustang! But these included missions are garbage (mostly). The campaigns are way better 🙂
@@ytdlder good to know. I haven’t done much other than just learning to fly in lately and doing that first mission. I’ll have to check out the campaign soon.
💪Nicely done! They built that much runway for us, might as well use the whole thing!
True; any landing you can walk away from...^^
3:19 that line about turning left all day cracks me up
It is kinda true though^^
This is a fun flight. Just found it the other day, looks like you flew it faster than me. I think I'm gonna use it as a regular warm-up flight from now on.
There is the same flight, just with the P51 Mustang; much easier, as you are way slower, but you get to appreciate the sights more. Especially the city and the canyon!
@@ytdlder that's a great idea. Thanks!
Oh man, such great memories of this one. First Gunship on the C64 and then on the Amiga, later Gunship 2000 on the pc. Like most of these older games - in my memories it looked a lot better than it actually did :D But the gameplay was totally awesome. Never found a game with that same kind of gameplay after this.
Guess what, after some googling there is a kind of remake out, Helicopter Gunship DEX. Immediately bought it, gonna test it now :)
@@MrEDET I know; haven't bought it yet though (still in EA if I recall correctly), but its definitely on the wishlist! (unlike the new Comanche helicopter game, which is utter garbage)

Sorry, what is it you're asking?
Hi1 Thanks for all postings regarding The Darkening. Is it by any means possible to enable the subtitles for the rest as you did for this one? For non English speaking people it'd be a must as they use a very particular way of speaking. Add to that that music and background noise are too high, ot that sometimes they more mumble than speak, we can't get the whole phrases and story clear.
Well, I didn't add any subtitles manually. These are KZread auto-generated. Sorry. I'm not a nativ speaker myself, so I'm not too sure to create subtitles out of the blue 🙂
@@ytdlder Thanks for answering. I know subtitles are auto-generated by KZread (sometimes badly, he he he). But, by the way they put it seems that while uploading the video or by any other means they can be "enabled". I don't know. I this particular video, out of all the ones you uploaded, curiously, subtitles are enabled. Just thought there could be an "easy" way to do it. ;) Thanks anyway!
@@nexusreplicant143 Yep, mostly badly 😅 Well, the default settings - which I use - are that YT will - if it can detect - create English subtitles automatically. I don't know of any way to "force" that... do you by any chance? I'd be happy to enable that feature.
Great scenes with Melissa (Mathilda May) and Lev (Clive Owen). Love her (both ;))!
I've said it times again: I miss story-games with actors. I mean, they are actors for a reason: they can convey story and emotion perfectly (if you get good actors, that is^^). BUT: I have to admit, it is possible nowadays to use rendered characters, as the graphics are pretty good now.
@@ytdlder True. We had this one and some of the Wing Commander (Mark Hammil and John Ryis Davies among others) issues using that.
Great game! Unfortunatelly, awful English for non English spoken people! And no subtitles, mainly when mixing is so bad that music and background noise muffle the voices.
Yeah, that's true... when they are in the bar and such, the voices can be quite hard to hear.
ha ha I forgot how bad the music was for some of these old games
Music and sound are very basic indeed; imho even more then the graphics. But that changed with Sound Blaster 32^^
interesting video
Thanks ^^
This is more impressive to me now than ever before. :3c
Ha! Well, it is quite impressive what they managed to do back then!
Love how they tried to simulate thermal imaging or is it black and white? I did not play this, I grew up with Gunship! and M1 tank platoon 2 in the late 90s
They had some very great ideas to do with the tech they got!
@@ytdlder and the workaround they had to tackle those limitations is amazing...
