    I recently bought a used low-mileage 2014 Ranger, there is no way to get to the fill-plug on the front diff due to the frame gusset in the way and I refuse to remove the front bumper / winch each time I do a fluid change. Hence, I ground a slot with my angle grinder on the frame gusset to get the 8mm allen in on a straight line. Personally, Polaris ATV's manufacturing processes SUCK, which I find stupid cuz their snowmobiles are great.

    Question, is it best to build shed first then get rat wall, slab poured? Or the cement work first? Michigan here. Near impossible to find anyone that will do both. So I need to likely hire two different men to do this..

    Thank you for being the one person to show the drain plug on top of the transaxle. I found it before watching, but was amazed that I could not find a video with the setup that these machines have when looking for possible alternatives.

    If you guys are struggling with this I took a half inch drill bit and drilled a hole a half inch up and a half inch to the right of the current hole. You can stick a 3/8s extension through and out the 8mm socket on and it works great

    I wish this was a requirement in Nebraska. I have hydronic radiant heat in my barn slab. There's 2" XPS under the slab, but nothing along the side besides the 2x6 skirt board. The first winter that I turned the floor heater on, voles started burrowing under the slab & chewing up the XPS. If they ever chew through the PEX tubing, I'll lose my heated floor! To keep them out, I've started burying 1/4" hardware cloth around the exterior walls. Still haven't finished doing that yet--we'll see how it works this winter. They've discovered that my manure compost bin is even warmer, so I'm hoping they'll permanently relocate there instead of under my barn this winter.

One thing I was planning due to the moist area I was planning to build in, is a drainage tile system under my shed concrete. Would I plumb this through the rat wall or under it??

  • @Maxpower4908
    @Maxpower49083 жыл бұрын

    Louanna Bledsoe There are no drain plugs, if that is what you are asking about. Just pull the filters and the oil will drain out. The vent plugs that I was talking about in the video are right on top. They are the only Allen head bolts that you can see from the top. They have round heads- about 3/4 of an inch in diameter. Hope this helps you.

    My 2005 Tahoe has a single din JVC stereo that previous owner had installed. I want to install a new single din stereo with Bluetooth. Will I just have to plug in the antenna and wire plug in the new one?

  • @Maxpower4908
    @Maxpower49084 жыл бұрын

    Mark Cole Your new single din stereo will come with wire harness that plugs into the back of it. You will have to wire that harness into the harness that is currently plugged into your truck’s factory harness. That may sound a little confusing, but it will make sense when you get the radio out and look at how it is plugged in. Your truck will have plug coming out of the dash that used to plug into your factory radio. There will be a harness plugged into that. The wires coming out of that second harness will be connected to the wires that run to your JVC. Cut the wires between the second harness and the JVC, and wire them to your new radio’s harness. If your new single DIN radio happens to be a JVC, you may luck out and have the same plug as your old one. In that case you would just have to unplug your old radio and plug the new one in - in the same way. Hope that helps!

    Dude, loved it! It was thinking about getting some adv tires for my Fz6S2 , beautiful explanation of all the mods. Would love some more imput on how the bike behaves on dirt roads. Keep those videos coming! Best regards from Argentina

  • @Maxpower4908
    @Maxpower49084 жыл бұрын

    Alex It does great on dirt roads with those tires. You have to be aware that you can spin the tire at pretty much any speed with that much horsepower, but it is perfectly stable, even when the rear wheel is spinning. The tires make all of the difference. With the stock tires, I felt like it wanted to wash out all the time. That little bit of lug made all the difference. The lower gearing helped a lot as well. The biggest limitation is the suspension. In my area, we have a lot off bumpy gravel roads. We call them “washboard roads” around here. If you hit those larger bumps at speed, you can bottom out the front suspension pretty easily. If you can afford to, I would suggest getting stiffer springs. Cheers.

    Thanks for the info. I'm having our cement poured after the pole barn is built. Can they still do the rat wall under the garage doors and man door at that time? Again thank you

  • @Maxpower4908
    @Maxpower49085 жыл бұрын

    Brett Hayworth Yes you can still do all of it after the barn is built. Or you can do a monolithic pour as one of the commenters below said. With a monolithic pour, you would dig everything out and then when they pour the floor, the concrete will flow into the ratwall and footings. I had to do the ratwall first because I had a ton of fill to bring in (about 2 feet in some spots), so I poured the ratwall, brought all the back fill in to bring the level up, and then poured the floor slab. Good luck!

  • @ZacharySchulz
    @ZacharySchulz3 жыл бұрын

    @@Maxpower4908 Thanks. I'm doing something similar. I'm going to build and pour the floor later. I don't want to pour the rat wall until the structure is built. It will mean more hand digging, but then I can pour the rat wall and floor all at one time. Nice video.

  • @ottoroth9377
    @ottoroth93775 жыл бұрын

    Pre-planning on something like this is the best option, but sometimes on older structures, this cannot be done. BUT...you can pour a monolithic slab which uses its own footers and the slab all in one...going to be tricky excavating with an excavator unless you dig it out by hand as you did....most states are writing this pour into their building codes for residential pours...garages have been using this method for years. By the way, I live in Ohio.
