When someone is playing a Hurdy Gurdy they can stop the constant rotation and convert the motion to back and forth. Is your instrument designed to do this as well?

Very nice! like a crossbreed between a Hurdy gurdy and Glass harmonica. It's interesting how the mechanics gets involved in the overall sound of the instrument

I wonder if you can get vibrato by rapidly varying the pressure on the keys you are pressing?

I like how horrid it is. It's like it's an instrument that wants to hurt you, and it doesn't care. It's not going to pretend to be a lovely thing with a dark secret. It's just this horrible, miserable, angry, bitter, hurtful, tortured sound.

I really like the general vibe of this instrument. Its "tortured" sound adds a level of melancholic depth I've been searching for in bizarre instruments for uears now.

this or just nails on a chalkboard ... I'm a musician and would choose the blackboard or just keys with no strings. Very interesting video though and a big thumbs up on video and you talking points.

I can't imagine this being a pleasurable instrument to listen to, but surely has a place in horror movie's background music/sounds.

Cool concept, but it seems like this one was calibrated/damaged specifically for use on horror movie soundtracks. I know it failed to catch on, but it's hard to believe anyone at the time of its invention would have presented *that sound* as coming from a proper musical instrument.
