Juzzie? Sit down, this is important... hang on... go to the beero first, then come back and sit down. Your instruction on bending got me to my first bent note (1st hole). From that, I kept my patience, and did indeed put down the harp and just picked it up intermittently for a few draws on that unicorn harmonica players we call the 4th hole, and tried to bend it. This morning, I flippantly gave the 4th hole another shot and WHAM! It bent like a bendy thing that's bent! Thank you so much for the patient advice - oh, I'm suing you. Because someone pissed in my pants when I heard the clear bend and I blame you - underwear is expensive in Ireland. Oh, if you're reading this in the comments? Subscribe, this guy is good, trust me

I love the videos and the music that you make it is awesome and I really enjoy this video as a matter of fact it made me buy a harmonica holder so that I can try to learn how to play the harmonica while playing the cigar box guitar.. I am not that experience at playing either the harmonica or the cigar box guitar and to tell you the truth wasn't really interested in trying to play them both at the same time until I watched this video.. You make it look so easy and sound so beautiful I said man I gotta give it a try.. I gotta say it's a little harder than it looks and I am having some problems with keeping the rhythm on two instruments at the same time but with practice I'm sure I will improve.. I have watched this video in its entirety at least four or five times now and I have been sitting here the whole time going why does this guy look so familiar and then it dawned on me right as the video came to about18:27 And I realized who it was that you reminded me of.. You look like that little girl off of the Little Debbie snack cake boxes older cool uncle who sits on the back porch drinking moonshine and playing blues music.. I really hope you don't take that last comment personally because I don't mean it rudely but that hat and your hair just reminded me of the little girl on the little Debbie's boxes.. But all jokes aside man I really enjoy your videos and music and I will continue to watch your videos and try to learn from them..

I've only told a small handful of people I got a harmonica and am learning, my aunt, grandmas, and my male bestie who LOVES jamming. I haven't told my boyfriend yet and I just know he'll tease me about it(lovingly, but still) so I'm wondering when a good time to break out and suprise him with it is. 😂 I feel like 10 years with loads of practice during lunch breaks outside at work, in the automatic car wash, a few extra minutes in the parking lot between errands, would be hilarious. Get snowed in and can't go anywhere easily, powrr goes out, finally get a fire going in the fireplace, and I just start playing the dopest riffs, that'd be hella fun(and funny. I have "secrets" but nothing serious. This could become the biggest one, depending on how long I keep it 😂).

Absolutely great awe inspiring story mate. You deserve the success friend. I’m just starting and know 1 song. I wish I took it serious when I bought a Hohner Marine 35 years ago. But, you are never to old to learn. I have many years left to become very good at the harmonica. God bless friend. I subscribe btw

thanks for a nice video, I am a total beginner! but I like to follow along as well as I can when some of the videos for beginner show up :) Could playing the harmonica be more beneficial for a singer in terms of improving their skills? Specifically, can learning the harmonica help a singer memorize melodies more effectively compared to learning the piano since the harmonica also involves using the lungs and mouth? Or is the piano still the superior choice for developing melody memorization, regardless of whether the melodies are sung or played on another instrument? I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this! Have a great weekend!

I just started playing piano which is great for finding the Melodie’s in my head. I usually hum them. Then I can workout which harmonica to use. Piano is great for singing 👍

@@JuzzieSmithKZread I see… I was thinking to start with harmonica for improving my singing… Tue breath work, melody and pitch word using a harmonica do you think this can improve one’s singing as well? Memorize melodies in an eqsier way as one can carry a harmonica in a pocket but not a piano

Best tip I ever got about playing fast I got from the great Nashville session pianist Gordon Mote: “if you have to think about it, you’re already too late.” Translation, learn your instrument and connect with it. Things like triplets, trills , warbles will make it sound faster than you are really having to play

Terry McMillan would use that glotis effect quite often. He would use it on the 2 hole while note bend and it just sounded real aggressive

your speed reminds me of some of the Sonny Terry stuff where Brownie would be taking his hunting dog (Sonny) out on a walk in the woods, Sonny would be a rooting around, then he would catch the scent and all hell breaks loose. Guy could tell an entire story without words. Now I have to go back and listen to some of that stuff.

I’m 69 years old. I have COPD. My doctor suggested I pick up a harmonica and learn to play. The suck and blow helps strengthen my lungs. It the best thing to loosen things up and it’s great fun. The more licks and tunes I learn Amazes me. Old dogs can learn new tricks. 🦏. Brown Rhino

A funny story about how i started.. i was listening to an audiobook called this tender land where a boy runs away from an abusive orphanage but took his harmonica. And how he interacted with people while playing it made me want to do that.. although I probably never will. However i got myself a honer special 20 in C and just went from there.. still playing a few times a week and tips and tunes from you and others like you are really helpful.. thank you 😊
