Commenting on what happens within families, how siblings go in different directions - my late sister and her husband, who is still living, are very well-known missionaries to an Asian nation. My oldest brother is a fundamentalist Christian. My second oldest brother is an atheist. Me, well, my fundy relatives might be on here but I used to be fundy, rebelled in my 20s and came back, rebelled again in my 40s, and the story I tell them is that I’m now an Episcopalian. Only a few people know how I really am. That’s what happened within my family, four siblings who were, theoretically, raised the same in a fundy family, and in my case, aa fundy Charismatic family, and who are all very different people in personality and in faith. We get along because we rarely are in contact and we don’t talk about politics. Edit to add, I’m 64 years old.
Interesting, my nephew-in-law is a pastor yet his calling is to connect other pastors to each other. Pastors get into feuds and he works to get them together to talk to one another and resolve these feuds, even if it is to agree to disagree agreeably. One time when I visited with family, he spent at least half an hour telling me about this. So, I understand a bit of what Stephan talked about, or what I thought he said before I went off into the weeds, of connecting pastors to each other and to the community.

Here's a tip for you: quit listening to religious or political figures, whoever they are (I don't believe in religion); and take a hard look at yourself in light of the Scriptures only, no one and nothing else. If you don't, then don't be surprised at your final fatal outcome: John 3: 36 and 8: 24. Whether you believe it or not is besides the point. If Yeshua is not who he said He was, then feel free to keep on believing in what I consider to be your far-fetched delusional lies. I remember your family from my college days (1970-74) when I was very active in Campus Crusade for Christ (Bill Bright). Much like you my views have changed over the years. I have returned to the faith of my youth which is no longer steeped in the 1928 prayer book. I am a cradle Episcopalian that belongs to a church that practices what it preaches, where all are welcome, and none are shunned, that marches for social justice, equal rights for all, a woman's right to choose, where black lives do matter, where all lives matter, where we take care of the poor, the widowed, and the orphaned among us, and cherish the other in all of us as we are all sojourners and fellow immigrants along the path less chosen. We celebrate both what we share in common as well as our differences--our lagniappe. I guess that's what makes those of us from southeast Louisiana and Acadiana different from the rest of the country--lagniappe--and we find any and all excuses to celebrate it daily. It is truly our joie de vivre.
