  You are so right! Beating your kid means you lack patience and creativity. My dad beat the hell out of me many times when I was growing up. I'm well into my 50s now and it still screws with my head in a multitude of ways. Maybe is does work for some kids, but if you really do love your child, it's not worth it to find out.
