    Would it not be better to have your vent fans setup as a Pusher? Push grow air w spores out the window so you won't have either a Fan destroyed by spores or all the cleaning one wild do to not break ones fans. Opinion?

    That's a great point. If I were doing this in a garage or a place where I wasn't worried about the spores then absolutely, positive pressure would be good. But because oysters make such an insane amount of spores, i didn't want them blowing into my room thru the very much NOT airtight seams and zippers of the tent. I'd rather foul my fan than my house and lungs, ya know?

    So....I have been growing P. polycephalum for a while and continuing the culture. However, when I try drying it either on oats, paper, agar or card....NOTHING seems to come back to life. I have dried it multiple ways and tried several methods. Any idea what on Earth I am doing wrong?

    I there, hope all is good! I choose your video tutorial to start my system. But I have a question, I need only the mycelium incubation fase. Can you please let me know the difference. Basically I understand that are similar, but I am curious about your knowledge and advice. Thanks

    Most are difficult to keep cultured. Your best bet is wild collections. Badhamia utricularis is a good one to culture. Easily recognized when it fruits too.

    This is great, but I’m curious to know how much it can really cool a tent? In Australia our summers get as high as mid 40C (111 F). So my upstairs room might reach 30C (86 F). I would love to know if anyone has used this Tek in hot climates, and how many degrees it actually cools a tent on those hotter days? Thank you.

  • @fresnomycologysociety5004
    @fresnomycologysociety50043 ай бұрын

    It dropped the temp in my tent about 10 degrees, from about 78 to 68. If you are running much hotter than that, something you might consider altering would be the cooler. Instead of a cooler with ice, you could coil some copper tube and put it into a mini fridge. The coolant would have to be a closed loop in that case

    See, now in my experience you actually needed a gravity damper and light dust filter at your outake and controllable dampers for you intake to restrict airflow. In an ideal situation youd want to recirculate your air through an air handling chamber and only pump in fresh during pinning, for more control on mushroom quality and formation. Sure the air handling unit will get full of spores but you have to clean your stuff between crops as good hygiene practice anyway. A small pressure washer works great for quick cleaning and applying an antimicrobial

    I wanted to go with Martha Grow Tent Kit (Around 300 USD). And will be using an Automated Humidity controller and a CO2 automated controller. The Ultra Sonic Humidifier will be left at the bottom of the grow tent. My tent will have 4 levels or shelves. I will only need to control the ambiant Temperature and lights by place the unit near a window for indirect sunlight. If there would be a complete Kit for a model like yours , i wouldn't mind spending a bit more for some kick ass Grow tent like yours. Very good video. 🤓 ❤ 👍👍👁

    Regarding the In & Out Air Exchange with a tent similar to the size you have? I see your in-line are 4” , could you use both 6” or one 4” going outside ands 6” pumping in???

    I helped a good friend if mine set up a chamber this size when he was getting started, two years later he was the only gourmet mushroom supplier in our city, supplied most of the local restaurants, including the one I owned, on a daily basis, and was doing extremely well, he passed in a motorcycle accident on May 5th, miss ya Jess. You could just use a large pressure cooker. That's what I do. The All America pc's are still pretty expensive and you'll only be able to get 3 large substrate bags into a 25 qt canner. But if you are growing in a small scale, it's a good way to go. And the pressure cooker can be used to sterilze all sorts of other mycoculture materials

    So I watched your previous video in how to sterilize and make the agar Petri jars. When you made them there were no polyfill holes, and you put them in fridge. Then in this video there were polyfill and holes in the lids in this video.. at what point do the holes get drilled? Wouldn’t the holes need to be there prior to being sterilized? Sterilize with the polyfill in place? Would really appreciate some advice, trying to learn and do it properly.. thanks a bunch!
