3:00 sad to see his Parkinson's already starting to show here. But very moving to see that he almost did not want to leave seeing the people singing about the love of his Master, our Lord Jesus, whom he came here to preach of. Thank you St. John Paul II for navigating the church through the turbulent second half of the last century. May you pray for us always as the world more and more turns its back on Christ and loses sight of His love in pursuit of temporary things.

I'm 33 years old now (I was 5 back then.) I even memorized this song when I was 5 years of age. Up until now, I still memorize this song. My family was there in 1995!!!

i always cry whenever i see this, we were there as WYD Volunteer for Archdiocese of NY USA delegates. walang tulugan noon, we were already there Saturday afternoon till Sunday after mass ended 3 pm na. The Pope was really hesistant to leave the stage and he is emotional.. Kaya panay chant naming lahat ng Lolek, lolek! John Paul 2 we love you while of us are crying! that was the best times of my life!

I always cry when I play this song and see the face of Pope Paul II. I was hospitalized during the days when He was in Manila in 1995 so I wasn't able to join any of the activities.

I was there at the Map or island of luneta...and being a youth leader before we and my teams of AYC then prepared everything before he Pope John Paul arrive in the Philippines... May parish have been task to escort the Japanese delegates... Memory that will always haunt you up to now... :)

May God Bless him. I know that my polish grandmother prayed for him. She called my mom & told her , You see i had faith that one of our nationality would become Pope. She passed away 7/13/1979.

It so sad. That we had much hope in changing the world back then, that peace is at reach. Then 9/11 happened, multiple wars, the explosion of the internet and the deteriorating rate of mortality, the wife spread of ideas giised as progressive but really wrapped in hate. WE FUCKED IT UP.
