Fantastic tenor voice! Thank you so much for this ultra rare video of Tabbert on Toast of the Town. Episode guides state he also sang "Make Believe" from "Show Boat" in this episode, could you post that as well? It's one of my favorite songs. Thank you!

I will never forget the evening in the theatre that I heard Joan Copeland sing BEWITCHED in the Circle in the Square production of PAL JOEY. Thanks to my friend Scott Oakley, I was able to see the show a second time. I had seen the show a few weeks earlier with Eleanor Parker and Edward Viella and then I saw Copeland and Chris Chapman and it was a revelation. I don't know why people think they have to keep updating the book. The original book works JUST FINE! And now, I finally have a souvenir of this wonderful performance. THANK YOU!

I mean, just look at these two. They are totally DELIGHT. Throughout their entire careers they were always game, always willing to put it al out there. How I miss the era when two great talents could just have FUN and yet hit every note exactly as written. I wonder if Bob Merrill had to approve the changes in the lyrics. Who knows, maybe he even supplied them with the new words. I love it when Ethel falls into Jimmy's arms and they rub noses.

The revised book is no improvement over the 1937 original (see the revival produced at Stratford, Ontario, also available on KZread) and this is a very pedestrian production. On the upside, the music and lyrics are topnotch Rodgers & Hart, more than ably delivered by this young and talented cast.

These excerpts you’ve been sharing are remarkable. I remember the American Musical Theatre series, which was broadcast Sunday mornings, but never heard of one titled Broadway I Love You, which seems exactly the same but for its name. Do you have entire episodes or just these excerpts? It’s amazing to see a young Jones and Schmidt performing. Their personalities could hardly seem more different, but then they start singing and seem to become one. We’ve had chances to see young Sondheim before but I don’t think I’ve ever seen young J&S. Thank you, Rob, for sharing this historic treasure.

Hey! Im a huge fan of this show and a historian for both this show and its predecessor seussical the musical! I found an old musical trading site which listed there was a full b-roll! Is there anyway I could possibly contact you to find and view for archive purposes or if there’s someone else you know I might be able to go for it? It would be appreciated so much and really help for my private archive Thank you so much and have a great day :))
