Are there any guitar players in the comment section. If so, where to place it? I like the idea of this device, but as a classical guitar player I am using both hands pretty much all the time. Not sure this would work for me, but I like the design very much.
STOP putting Background music on videos with NARRATION 🙄 it Only makes it HARDER to hear what is being said ! 🤷
Works wonderfully! I have the Flic on the instrument below my right thumb. The only problem is that the Flic keeps falling off because the adhesive surface on the round instrument is too small. Does anyone have a solution or idea for this?
Excellent! Well done- very nice to use this as a reference recording and extremely enjoyable to listen to with Wind Ensemble!❤
No idea where I can purchase one. None on Amazon.
There's a link in the description to order directly! They were on amazon until recently; not sure why they are no longer there!
Watching the work happen! Love it!!
That's right!
I think you did a great service at the very end of the video, by demonstrating that even a player of your caliber warms up with 3rds. Makes it easier for us to tell our students to learn their scales! Please do post another video when your recording is released.
Long tones and scales... gotta focus on the things that make everything else possible!
🤘🤘
Woah, what a video! 🤘🏻
Just trying to get on your level!

CARN!!!
Thanks, mate... I... wish I knew what that meant! ;)
this gave me a heart attack
Repeating an earlier comment... is this wind ensemble arrangement available? Thanks!
Every time I listen to you I am absolutely blown away by the absolute insanity of your breath control and finger techniques. It's really cool to listen to. Also, some timestamps: Movement 1: 0:00 Movement 2: 2:47 Movement 3: 3:48 Movement 4: 4:54 Movement 5: 6:02
Preston, thank you so much for the kind words. You made my day!! So glad you enjoyed the performance, and thanks for the time stamps. I will add those to the description!
First couple of minutes doubled my heart rate !! …but after that a good informative video…
Ok totally unrelated, but what kind of boots are you wearing when you're demoing the pedals? Those are sweeeeet
Oh this is a great comment!!!!Those are wolverine 1000 mile boots. I got them 12 years ago and they’re still amazing!! Funny enough I got a new pair on Saturday, since those are a bit too worn to dress up.
😂😂😂put my saxophone in laundry
Thanks for doing this tube. I went over and ordered one button to test out ... we'll see.. thanks.
This is my favorite practice strategy, but I'm curious to know what yours is! Tell me all about it!
Hope you had enough time to accomplish that vigorous wall test...it's always so daunting 🫢
daunting, yet, so essential.
Great video, I didn't know the Flic button, I will definitely give it a try. Which iPad app you use for the score?
Anyone know if this is compatible with piascore?
Thank you for the video. My question, how well would work on a Soprano? Ive played Alto for a number of years and recently got a Soprano. I have thumb soreness with it that never occurs with my Alto.
I think it works great on Soprano!! It's certainly very important on that instrument, regardless of whether one plays a straight or curved neck.
Great video, Stephen! Have you found a comfortable place to put the button on your soprano? I bought a Flic2 a few months ago, but I couldn't find a great spot to place it when playing soprano -- maybe the neck strap clip is the best idea!
Dr. Eason!! You're right, the soprano is a bit tricky to work with in this way, since we're a bit more engaged in balancing the instrument as we play (especially if using a straight neck). I've gravitated toward using it clipped on my neck strap for the most part, and it works just fine on soprano for me.
Thanks for the video, I had the same problems with pedals and didn't use my iPad on stage for this reason. I will definitely try it!
Do let me know what you think!
I experimented with the Flic button a year ago, cause I hate the pedals on stage (as a spectator) - although I don't even play from iPad (yet). The constant foot tapping distracts me. Glad that you did this video. I also concluded that this is a good solution. Did you run into any disadvantages so far? I didn't like the reaction time, would have prefered a slightly faster response. You can make it quicker when you disable the double click for which the Flic waits after having clicked once. But still it could be more responsive. Is you pedal more responsive?
I have not really found any disadvantages at this point. I do think this Flic2, as opposed to the original, has a faster reaction time. For me, it is a nice option, and I like that it is so small. Hopefully they will continue to develop the tech to be even better!
Game changer. Thanks for sharing!
Right?! Why didn't I know about this earlier?!
Which pedal do you use? Or, have you found other solutions like I have??
I have adhesive on my bell. What can I use to get it off?
I think you should use a rag and oil, WD 40 may just do the trick, won’t damage the laquer
Any info on the title? The only association brought to mind for me is the former sax prof at UMass Amherst. Is that mpc a similar deal to the Delangle, with both metal and hard rubber elements?
Yes, the piece was written for Lynn Klock, hence the title! You can read more about it at www.yuseflateef.com. The mouthpiece is a new design in the Rousseau line, which we released a few years ago now. A fantastic new design, with two options, the Classic and the Custom; I play the Custom.
@@StephenPageSax Thanks! Will you be in Fairfax next month? (And when are they going to have you as one of the featured soloists?)
You sound amazing!!
Thanks so much! I appreciate you taking a moment to check this recording out!!
Outstanding!
Cool to see you here
Thanks so much!!!
You are using the dollar bill on the sticky pad lol.
Wow
Amazing performance very nice piece only wish it could last forever Ive been trying to get a really solid tone and have been researching diferent setups. Was curious what equipment you are using here?
I believe hes using a Rousseau NC4 but sometimes an ER50 Custon too, D'addario reeds and an ishimori ligature
Chilling. Fantastic job
As a guy who plays clarinet and sharpens his own straight razors, I never thought to use my diamond stone for the reeds. Very nice idea.
can you explain the right hand position. do you need to be touching the side keys or are they away from them in general?
No need to be touching them always, but staying near to them is definitely a good thing. It will vary from person to person based on hand size, and in some cases, risers are helpful!
とても美しいです✨
ありがとう
Does any know how to cleaning the bell of the saxophone?
Hello Dr. Page, I wondering how you have adapted this set up with the new “D’Addario: Reserve Organic” paper reed cases that are provided? Did you find yourself recycling the plastic cases or are you setting the paper cases differently? Thank you in advance!
Hi! Good question. I typically use the paper cases for the first few days, then put the reeds in another holder. Lately ive been using the new Key Leaves reed holder, which is really excellent!!
Sounds great! Do you know where I could get this arrangement?
Amazing 😄
This is so helpful! Thank you so much!
excellent video but I never use the rollers for the low B to Bb or C# to B I just rock my pinky..It seems to work great and afford very fast technique in that difficult register...
I do this also, specifically from B to Bb.
some old saxophonist from my hometown change the pearls of the yamaha to a flat pearls. the stock pears are not flat. and flats helps a lot with finger positions
Everyone has a preference! I personally, prefer concave pearls for the security they give me, but like you shared, I know others who like the flat ones for the same reason!
Every saxophonist I hear, every saxophonist I follow
Do You play Rousseau NC4 there, what reed if remember? Do You like NC4 better than R50, wich one of R50 You like more, Classic or Custom? Thank You.
I play the Rousseau ER50 Custom with a 3+ or 3.5 D'Adarrio reed. For me, it's the perfect combo!
