Consider myself lucky to have met Ian once. The Clash had him as a special guest at The Tower Theater. The late Ed Sciaky told me earlier in the day he would be there so I grabbed my Kilburn and the Highroads album which I bought before Stiff had even started. He signed it and I think was impressed that anyone in America knew about his earlier years.

I was 19 when this came out. And eventhough as a straight man you weren't supposed to like it or the band, I fuckin loved it and still do. Gotta be one of the best tracks ever to come out of the 80s. Simply a masterpiece.
