  Hey, this video helped a million, even in 2024. Did need to reference the description, but it was relatively straightforward. Before that, I was brute forcing all 10,000 possible parental control code combinations over the course of a sleepless night and 5 cups of coffee. Helped me not work myself to death lmao. Good vid, deserves WAY more clout.

  As of May 1, 2024, I can confirm I was at least able to register and successfully reset the passcode on an Xbox 360 Slim. Mother of god, thank you. I just bought one from a retro store today, since my old 360's disc drive hasn't worked in ages - and all was going great getting the new one set up, until I realized it had PARENTAL CONTROLS set on it, and of course I tried a bunch of different combinations to guess, but nothing worked. Were it not for this video, that Xbox would have been going straight back to the store for a refund. Luckily there was nothing actually on the Xbox, it was otherwise factory, save for the parental controls being active. I was this close to being so mad I couldn't see straight - but, crisis averted. No idea if it doesn't work on other models, or what - all I know is I just did this today with a Slim model, thanks to this video.

  My XBOX 360 S is being weird. I have a 300Mbps connection but the downloads i'm pulling is like 0.01 when I do a test. It's not my equipment. I wonder why it's doing that?

  I'll give it a shot, weird thing is ours isn't pre owned, no one in the house would have made the family passcode or a question, so we have no idea why this happened. Was working last fall when I used it last, then suddenly tried to do halo with younger brother, and this popped up.

  That could be a mechanical issue, or maybe some debris in the console. Give these steps a shot and see if it helps. support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/console/manually-eject-disc

  MICROSOFT owning ya. my win 10 laptop even wanted to get an MS store DVD app. VLC thank you. Paystations= always an eazy peezy media machine. after revamping some 360s and ones I started to get the xbox bug again and then this stuff comes up just in time to send me running. I wanna pinch MS as hard as I can minus doing some Halo on pc via XBOX app. LINUX next. i hear you have to jump through hoops to play optical media offline also. OH NO MS might stop making the XBOX, Sony has most of the market but lets let a few XBOXs and its victims survive to keep SONY on its toes Shh! ; ) and i love MSs HDCP help page how generic and useless it is. and what happened to split screen its the main reason to have console so i dont have to fire up a PC LAN party while pals watch and whine. PLAN = PS5 with GRIPZ and checkout free PS5 games at local library + eazypeazy VR2
