Hello hello hello! Jess here. AT Class of 2024! Ohio-based casual backpacker of 10 years -- outdoors, hiking, nature lover and content creator. I'll be posting backpacking videos and camping videos throughout my NOBO Appalachian Trail 2024 thru-hike -- sharing all of my greatest moments, biggest mistakes, hostel stays, informational videos, gear reviews, thru-hiking tips and backpacking tips. I am 100% new to the world of long-distance backpacking, but as a female thru-hiker and creator, I'm excited to document all of my highs & lows and show other aspiring women thruhikers that YOU CAN DO IT! (While also proving to myself that I can do it too :)) Thanks for watching!

I always carry a book with me on trail. You’re right and everyone else is wrong. 😊
Where was the mural? What are your recommendations for women's hiking shoes?
You’re soooo right! Books are awesome!!
As always hike your own hike. If you want to bring a book then bring a book. Keep on hiking!
Nice video with some nice views, so let's keep on hiking 😊
Hey Sass, glad you are enjoying your zero day. Hope your new shoes work well. Happy hiking❤
One thing that helped me save pack weight and still read a physical book was too cut a book into two or three sections and put the future sections in my bounce box 🤣
I think reading a book w someone who is not in your presence is fabulous. And I bring a book on trail too. 😊 It definitely worth the weight and give my mind a different form of relaxation. Awesome job Sass…love your videos! 🥰🥾🥾⛺️🌸
Nice part about printed books, no batteries needed. If only you could pickup something to read at a shelter and then swap it for another book up the trail. In theory it would work but I'm sure people would forget and take the book with them.
Sass, check out "AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE" by David Brill. It is a thru hike book about the A.T. and the only A.T. book that made me feel as though I was thru hiking while reading it. It is a very good read and quite different than your hike and even my 1990 hike. He thru hiked in 1978 if I remember correctly.
Congratulations on completing the approach trail…the AT now begins lol!!
Glad to hear Jenny was hanging out with a great group. Saw her posts about being harassed by a creepy stalker type, very disturbing. Thanks for the observations about the Long Trail. My cousin is hiking, but doesn't post on social media.
Safe travels.
Good video with lots of good views, so let's keep on hiking 😊
Hi Sass, don't worry about the up coming mountains, you will crush them! Happy hiking❤

As soon as I saw the thumbnail, Van Halen started playing in my head (ask Soap if you don't get the reference)
Hi Sass, you are doing great! Looks like you are having so much fun. Any updates on why Gadget stopped posting videos? Hope she is okay. Happy hiking❤
Dude, it's been three days. Sometimes creators just need a break
@KC3YCU I understand that she might just be taking a break, but is out of the norm for her.
I talked to Sass this morning and she is hiking with Gadget. They are having a zero day so maybe Gadget will post something.
I have been watching since the beginning. You are doing awesome and love watching your journey. Keep up the great hiking. Happy trails.
Great bridge jump. Very impressive. Such a badass!
Very impressive that you know your plants! You are doing a great job. Good luck stay safe have fun!
I just did the section from Killington to Hanover the first week of July. Saw two bears just north of Winturri shelter. One took off the other was more curious and took more convincing to leave. How cool is “The Lookout” and its roof deck?
Great video just living life
Saw this one earlier on the big screen. Just beautiful. Thanks 😊
Do you live in a state with a lot of hiking trails available that you trained on?
Good video with some good views, nice water fall, so let's keep on hiking 😊
Hey Sass, you are crushing this hike! Is Gadget okay? She hasn't put out any videos for a few days now, hope she is alright. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. Please update us on Gadget, if you know what's going on. I want to see the two of you on top of Katahdin. As always, happy hiking❤
I talked to Sass this morning and Gadget is with her. Not sure why she's not posting anything but she is on trail with Sass.
@CindyFaye-mn2vh thanks for the update. Gadget posted that she is still on trail and has been dealing with some emotional issues, but doing better and will start her videos again soon.
Is gadget off trail?
She's on trail, I talked to Sass this morning and they are together.
😊
1700 miles! Fantastic!!!!
I love the Pogues
Good job over 1700 miles and less than 500 to go, good video with some good views, nice foods. So let's keep on hiking 😊
I was so honored to meet Soap and Gadget on their way up a MT in NH. Tell them Dale says hello. Wish i was able to meet you. Have a great hike and keep kicking ass.
The bug may have been a cicada in one of its many forms
Congratulations 1700 miles. Outstanding 👍
Did I miss the peak? My memory is a small building and behind it a rock scramble. My son was in junior high and we were doing VT sections. We had skied there in the winter. He wanted to see the top so we did the scramble. What a letdown. The peak was crowded with tourists who came up on the chair lift. A few of them asked us how we got there. We went back to the trail and hiked to the same spot you did. We no more than got in the building than it started to pour. At least we were dry until my husband arrived with the car. Happy hiking!
Hi Sass, 1700 congratulations! Looks like you had a tough climb today, but the views was beautiful. You and the gang are doing great. Happy hiking.
I think that was a moose antler in that tree.
1700 😮 Way to go ❤
Congrats on 1700. Safe travels.
