Fried noodles were a way to preserve noodles in Taiwan in the past. You can find these fried noodles at food stalls in many old historical photos of Taiwan

I just watched this while eating some spicy schizuan pepper ramen produced in China and my lips are tingling from the pepper, it's so nice. God bless the inventors of this delicious meal.

Seeing the Chinese trying to steal credit for this great man's invention really irks me. So, I am compelled to set the record straight. Momofuku was a Japanese of Taiwanese Han ethnicity descent. There is no such thing as a "Chinese" ethnicity, and just because he was of Han ethnicity does not entitle China to claim credit for each and every innovation/invention made by someone of Han ethnicity, particularly when they do not have any affinity to China. It's like Germany claiming credit for Henry Heinz's inventions solely because he was of German descent or the Dutch claiming credit for Thomas Edison's (who was partially of Dutch descent) invention of the lightbulb. Momofuku was never born in China and never felt any nostalgia towards China. If anything, he felt an affinity towards Japan. He was born in Taiwan under Japanese rule. At this juncture, I feel compelled to remind the little pinks that at that time, Taiwan was ceded by the Qing Dynasty to Japan after the first Sino-Japanese war. The concession of Taiwan was internationally recognized, including by Qing China (unlike Manchukuo which was invaded by Japan). Momofuku was for all intents and purposes born a citizen of the Empire of Japan.

Ramen noodles are an idea from another. China developed a noodle to feed it's armies. The armies tossed into it opportunistically almost anything. Drop a handful of stir-fry and chunks of ham. Chicken too, if you can get past adding it's egg to the same pot. I have a hard time doing ramen without an egg, so no chicken... Bacon, egg. jalapeno and onion are a go.

His intentions may have been good, but Ramen is garbage to eat. Its overloaded with sodium and its not good at all. Only poor people will praise this food because they had to live on it for a period of their life. Even when you are poor, there are better food options that this crap.
