    Hi Alexis, thanks for a good and informative video. I have a question: I will be traveling for approximately 28 hours and will take my glider with me. Would it be ok to vacuum pack it to save space in my luggage?

  • @oneupadventures5040
    @oneupadventures504017 күн бұрын

    You shouldn't have any issue with it being packed away for that amount of time. You don't want to pack it away tight like that for weeks/months on end but for travel trips you should be okay!

    Curious- How much more thrust does it have compared to MiniMot?

  • @oneupadventures5040
    @oneupadventures504017 күн бұрын

    It does offer more thrust than the MiniMot especially with the 100cm prop vs the 88cm prop on the MiniMot. We do not have comparable numbers however.

    Proton vs MiniMot? MiniMot still wins weight, size, electric start, swing arm and paraglider pilot fly feeling category - would like to know more for smaller pilots.

  • @Kyle.Mooney
    @Kyle.MooneyАй бұрын

    For a smaller pilot it really depends on your weight. I would suggest the proton as you have a bullet proof engine with easily serviceable parts and readily available. They are both good but for me the Proton is +1 for sure.

    @@Kyle.Mooney That’s interesting, thanks so much Kyle. What info can you say about the power performance side of things in comparison with the prop size? The Atom 80 cc the MiniMot 170cc with the smaller prop sizes. On MiniMot 165lbs (75kg) all up weight The following are averages because weather conditions play a roll in varying performance. I can get off in 3 - 4 steps at 1000ft in 4min @ 4900-5200 RPM not full throttle. Flights to 2000-3000ft the following is for the most part not cruise but gaining height. I like to hold it at an Average temperature 343°f (173°c) Min 320°F (160°c) @ 4900RPM Max 356°c (180°c) @ 5200 - 5400 (not full throttle.) Getting a bit technical I know but it would be very helpful to get any comparisons. 🤗

    Luna3 is not a wing I would choose for big XC. It wouldn't be a horrible pick, but it felt much more like a very advanced all-rounder to me. And, if I'm gonna fly an advanced wing on a long XC, there are more specialized options. Sure it's fast, but that's not high on my list when I am flying for hundreds of miles. I would pick something less sporty.

  • @Ethriean
    @Ethriean2 ай бұрын

    Do you have experience with other options? I am try to find my perfekt XC wing and think about the Dudek Hadron 3, Niviuk Kougar 3, Ozone Sirocco 3. Wings Like the Warp or the ViperXC are a step to high. I am searching for effiency in the first place and i don't need a agile wing.

    You are not the first person with this advice, but i fly a Dudek Universal 1.1 since my first launch and the step to the viperxc is gigantic. My Problem ist: I cannot test ozone wings, but i can test Dudek, niviuk and itv Wings in july.

    This or the cosmos 300? What's been more reliable over time?

  • @oneupadventures5040
    @oneupadventures50402 ай бұрын

    Hey Jesse, We have seen the Cosmos to be SUPER reliable! One customer has 380+ hours close to 400 hours on his first cosmos 300 and is working close to 100 hours on his second with no issues still. He has a plan to purchase a 3rd this fall. The Cosmos is what we use in the school as well and have just been so very happy with it!

    @oneupadventures5040 Thanks, super glad to hear this! Flying the trike with smaller wings is putting a lot of wear and tear on a moster and I'd like to have more power for sure. Looks like I'll be selling one of mine to go towards a cosmos.

    I want to like the message but imagine you're talking about an electrician from the power company. He knows what he's doing, he has the tools, but to Joe Shmoe it looks like he's going to get himself electrocuted. Under your interpretation, he can't do work because an ignorant person frets? Yeah, don't fly over houses at dawn, don't be a hazard. But the rest of this stuff about catering to the most ignorant person with eyes... no thanks.

  • @Kyle.Mooney
    @Kyle.Mooney2 ай бұрын

    Hazardous operations are in the eyes of the beholder. With that said, I am not going to stop doing acro because "it looks scary". There are many times where pilots should use better judgement so paramotoring isnt annoying and looking bad in the public eye.
