I was a member of the Christchurch Model Yacht Club at Victoria Lake in Hagley Park. The home of the Canterbury J-Class and I was a member when the first J-boat was sailed and went to the 100th Anniversary Regatta. Great memories.

You certainly know your stuff Phil. I, and 2 other Phil Crofts in the family are glad to share the name with you. This is an excellent little vid for those who haven't visited this beautiful country. I know theres a certain sadness and poignancy about it,because of subsequent events, but as you have shown on your previous vid, they are striving to build on the past for a better future.

My sincere apologies for Churches that have not yet been included, but I will make every effort to get these done for a Pt 2 video clip and for inclusion in the 2012 google earth Model Your Town competition. Also many thanks for comments re facts etc. which may need correction or inclusion in Pt 2 , these are gratefully accepted in order to present a more visually pleasing and accurate experience.

Very impressive. A few ommisions: Trinity Church on Hardwick Mount, Buxton Community Church (London Rd) and Christ Church King Sterndale (Very beautiful - part of the Buxton Team Parish). There is also Fairfield Methodist Church (it would be difficult to model this as it is joined to Alma Square flats) and finally (I think) 'The Church of God' in Buxton at the Gospel Hall on Hardwick Square South (They keep themselves to themselves as perhaps implied by their name!).

Very nicely done, but I'd have been even more impressed if the first "fact" hadn't been wrong: As a building, St Anne's Church is considerable older than 1625. That's only when it was consecrated as a church. But as I say, nicely put together, and even the Celine Dion isn't as schmaltzy as I feared...
