Now, I could be wrong, but I *think* the person they referred to as wandering/called 911 was some sort of witness that somehow was able to give up the location of the kidnappers and Zoey. Lots of the dialogue from Casper while in Marine One is hard to hear (because Abby and Jed were definitely *NOT* listening) but I think that’s the part of the scene that holds the key.

The helicopter dialogue said there had been a domestic dispute and the woman was dropped off in th e middle of nowhere. She was wandering around looking for a way to call 911 a nd came upon them. It was unc,ear to me if she reported them or if when she finally got help the cops somehow became aware of them.

7000 tons is a remarkably light ship to be Fitz last ship. 7000-tons gets you a pretty well armed frigate, not the kind of vessel an admiral would be captaining.
@Egilhelmson10 ай бұрын
Admirals do not Captain ships, even carriers. Squadrons or fleets, maybe. Most probably, Fitz shifted to shore duty after his 7000 ton command and never went back to individual ship commands. Assuming that the writers got the figure correct, of course.

He didn't, not really. He was simply unhappy that Ellie unwittingly made policy for him by saying her father "Would never do that..." She was speaking about the man, and she probably was right on that one. But as president, he might have to do it regardless of his own opinion. He was angry that she outright put words in his mouth to a journalist of all people. He had a point. And sure, he could have been calmer about making it. Bartlett has a temper and it sometimes gets the better of him. I liked that, it made him flawed.

I love the whole episode the message is that Jed and Ellie don’t understand each other but love each other dearly. The whole episode had this tension because Ellie couldn’t make her father happy and Jed believed he didn’t understand his daughter. This one line shoots that to sunshine. A father as kind and loving Jed always knows what to say. He saves it up and delivers it and you can see it’s what Ellie has wanted to hear all her life and she’s trying all her strength to fight back the tears or unbridled joy and relief her father gave her with one sentence.
