All The Pretty Books

All The Pretty Books

HI!! Welcome to my channel. I have been a part of the Potter-Collecting Community for about 10/11 years. AND I LOVE IT! I have a collection of over 1,000 Harry Potter books comprising of Harry Potter translations from the farthest reaches of the world (think Greenland, Mongolia, Nepal AND MANY OTHERS!), rare and signed Potter books and more! Because of my many years of experience with JK Rowling signed books, I have developed a trained eye for her signature (and the MANY forgeries!).

But my Harry Potter book collection is about way more than just the books -- in big, bold, vibrant colors, it illustrates the many friendships I've made in my collecting journey. I've found some of my best friends through Potter! And I look forward to meeting many more amazing people like you!

Have I mentioned I love meeting new people! Feel free to reach out to me to chat Potter or ask me Potter-related questions; I never mind! Talk to you soon!

Happy Collecting!
-Carly

    It should be noted that the 15th anniversary Kazu set has two versions. The first edition release had a slimmer, tighter box made of better material but it was so tight that it was difficult to put the books back in and impossible if they were read. The box you have is the 2nd version, made of thicker cardboard and has plenty of space for book removal. I personally have a sealed original for display and the newer box for use.

    Are the pages made of India Paper? There are some Sigle Volume editions of "The Lord of the Rings" that use it. It even makes them look like an average-sized book.

    The description of those books say "This gift edition hardback, presented in a beautiful foiled cloth slipcase decorated with brand new line art by Jonny Duddle, is a perfect addition to any Harry Potter fan's collection." - but to me this does not look like "cloth slipcase" at all. Are there different versions?

    Hi Carly! Have you noticed the latest Bloomsbury children softbacks and hardbacks seem now to have the movie title both on Bloomsbury 's and Amazon's websites! (I have the softcover children and adult hardback myself) I wouldn't buy other Harry Potter brand new books (I have 2 softcover sets and 2 hardbacks, British/English, and that's enough!). Would you look into this title mystery? Do you think they put the movie title ('Harry Potter') only on the online shopping book covers because of the movies for people to buy them or they really changed from their beautiful original 'Harry Potter' children title on the newest print runs too?? Also I'm going to Maine for vacations, so hoping to get some used Thomas Taylor hardcovers/softcover for cheap prices! Maybe I'll be able to have a complete Thomas Taylor set for around 5$ maximum per book? Gonna practice my rusty spoken English! Hope you're well, hi again from francophone Québec province, Canada.

    3:38 Some dubious books would still appear in libraries, especially in china. It says on the cover 顛覆延伸版(Revolutionary Extended Version?) I feel like that one is a fanfic or a "homage", to the classic book kind of thing, very possibly unauthorized. So that's a fanfic of mixing harry potter or (a look alike) to hang out with classical chinese literature characters, the Monkey, and so forth...

    The third book says Harry Potter Networks with a secondary title that says Young Hero. This looks more like a study guide than an actual novel. The next one is actually a comparative analysis between Harry Potter and Journey to the West, which is a classic Chinese novel featuring the monkey king as the protagonist. And none of those 2 books are titled Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets, they are all made up stories. One says Harry Potter and the golden armor, the next one says Harry Potter and the water-sheltering harbor. Harry Potter and the big filter should be translated as Harry Potter and the giant funnel, apparently the story features a funnel with magical powers 😂.

    Is it even possible to finish such a long book without breaking the spine? Also, I always thought of Stephen King's 'The Stand: Complete Edition' as the longest book that's still entertaining at 470k words. But technically this Harry Potter release, at over a million words, is even longer, and it's one book here. What other giant single-tome omnibus of classic books exists that I never heard of, I wonder... I'm very fascinated by abnormally sized books lol be they tiny or massive

  • @AllThePrettyBooks
    @AllThePrettyBooks3 ай бұрын

    The publisher definitely considered the spine when making this book! I think the spine will definitely survive a read through - multiple hard read throughs - I don’t know. But they’ve really thought though everything

    Here's what I understand: If they can squeeze so many books into one book like this, why can't they make the individual books smaller? I dont mind small text, and I like books that take little space.

    @@AllThePrettyBooks You mean the one where they spread them into like 19 volumes? No, I meant one volume for each book. Like what they did for Lord of the Rings, which has a "deluxe" pocket leatherbound edition with the exact size I'm hoping to see with Harry Potter. Single volume is also cool in its own way but too bad it's only German ( my favorite language, but I can't speak it 😢 )

    @@AllThePrettyBooks Thanks for responding again. I can't seem to find these pocket books online. If you look up "Hari Potta to himitsu no heya amαzοn"..
