Very cool. I'm still far more interested in the Teo-5 though. I prefer the character of the filter, even if it is less versatile. It would really hurt, but I'm tempted to seriously consider one. I would love to explore what the sequencer can do (parameter only style) and see if it talks to Reaper without midi feedback on clock. Thanks for the video.

Beatiful Presentation! Noticed you got the new faceplate already, where the display looks like on the teo-5 and some prints on the panel represent the take 5 2.0 update. Also would be interesting if there where some under the hood changes or if this is just a cosmetic update. Mind sharing the serial number so we can estimate when those changes where made?

I'm not in love with mine, but I got it for a steal with display plastic still intact. When I have more room, I will bring out the T5, Pro 3 and get a TEO 5 for that trifecta of format. I paid the same as my Deepmind 12D, so who's to argue that it's not great value. I'm shipping back my S6 and getting a 3rd Wave, which is more inline with my music. S6 is good, just not what I would continue to use. All in all though, T5 is a keeper, has a stellar keybed and format is desk friendly. Thx for the upload.

People mostly don't like hydra and think it sounds harsh because of its effects. Once you replace all of them with something decent , the synth sounds warm and lush. A good chorus is an absolute must have for this synth as well as a top reverb. Once I plugged the synth in my daw and added valhalla effects on top of it, the synth sounded completely on the new level. Hydra can easily give you some exotic and beautiful lush sounds once you get to know it.

Love my Hydrasynth Deluxe, especially the ability to layer 2 sounds. I’ve used it a bunch in my music I hated the init patch on it so much though, that I created my own, much warmer init… and saved that into a ton of slots as a starting point Edit: P.s. I do find the reverb a bit much when the cutoff is way opened up… but I rarely used fully opened cutoffs anyway, so find it doesn’t bother me

Very nice patch. I don’t hate the HS reverbs as much as you do, but it’s clear an external reverb is far better. You can use those LFOs/envelopes to modulate reverb parameters too, and internal reverbs are saved with the patch which is convenient. I’ll often use the built-in reverb in a patch to get the idea down, and if i want to record, I’ll turn it off and use a pedal or plugin.

When we are old, behringer is expensive and valueless, and suits very little purpose. If I needed McDonald's, I might not tell all to social media, like I would with anything from Dave Smith. I recorded a large, big band in concert for my client, sent the finished master to him and he said it didn't sound good, but he was listening on his phone speaker. I suggested he listen on his stereo instead. Sent him a CD. "oh, that is much better". he replied. I've been a musician and recording engineer for 56 years, don't have the patience to educate anymore.

I feel as if Sequential changed to a different brand/type of pot on the newer synths like Pro3, Take 5, Trigon 6, but are still using the older pots on the P6 and OB-6 and are having quality issues with them. It would be nice if they’d redesign the P6 and OB-6 panel boards to use the newer pots, but there’s cost involved in that and Sequential isn’t a big company. I would expect the OB-X8, P5 and P10 modules would also have high quality pots. I think you’ll be happy with the TEO-5 if its sound/filter lives up to that of the OB-6. Also, I enjoy your videos. Don’t let the d!ckheads bring you down. For every d!ckhead, there’s hundreds who love your videos.
